Short descriptions
Mutations
[ Despite her appearance and the vague percentage she is not a wolf dog. This all comes down to genetics. As it is known that black wolves are caused from a genetic mutation that's only found in dogs. It's been determined that far off in the past, wolves and coyotes interbred with dogs. With this, it provided a boost in health and a surprisingly helpful mutation; melanism. Melanism is the development of the dark-colored pigment melanin in the skin or its appendages and is the opposite of albinism. Which you'd ask why can't wolves be albino then? Melanism doesn't come from the same spectrum as albinism or leucism.
Her nose, lips, pawpads, and eyes are caused from a genetic mutation caused by a dog ancestry. She isn't blind and the mutation causes no health benefits or risks. The white mask doesn't falter her ability to hunt as it's not as noticeable.
Her eyes are caused by a recessive genetic trait only seen in certain dogs, commonly known as ghost eye, where the dog is lacking pigmentation in the iris. This trait will most likely not be passed on to any of her offspring, or her offspring's litter either. It is recessive and the likely-hood of it reoccurring is slim to none. ]
Appearance
[ Staggering around 30" at the shoulder and weighing a total of 100lbs Windigo holds an imposing form. Just as her father and the rest of her siblings she seems to be growing into an intimidating size that matches her ghostly stare. Her paws are large and heavy, fit for trucking long distances, while her legs are well equipped with sturdy muscles that can carry her with ease through the thick brambles and tall plain's grasses. While ,rounded,wide positioned ears listen in for hazard and ahead and her short brushy tail flags with confidence as she slinks into the shadows.
The Ghost is a lone matriarch. In her prime and her built is that of wolves that range from the high north. She has a narrow chest and wide ribs that are rapped in a well muscled exterior and a thick hide. Her pelt, though not as luxurious as those of the southern breeds, holds it's own by protecting her like a coat of arms. Making it all the more difficult for the bite of enemies and winter to reach her vibrant pink flesh with it's coarseness.
Even so her built is not so completely brutish that they're void of any femininity. Their eyes,though holding superstitious to the religious, are soft and nurturing to those who have become a mutual in her life. Her muzzle is small and dainty compared to her lumbering stature and squat body and has a rosy dusting along her muzzle, that gives off an antique feel. While her face completes the look with fine feathering that shapes her head into a symmetrical disk. ]
Abilities
[ Experienced in hunting middle sized game such as wild sheep and younger deer. Able to take down larger prey with the help of another. Poor and could be considered useless in hunting small game.
Due to her size and musculature the windwaker is best suited for taking down medium sized prey without assistance. Her best attribute is stamina and the method used for hunting is a run down tactic. Chasing a large group for an extended amount of time to weed out the easiest one to kill. If one isn't found she'll simply single out the closest one and chases them till they drop, then kills them.
With assistance, though, she may be able to bring down larger individuals with the same tactic. Usually this leads to one holding down the said prey while the other begins to consume it alive. Killing the animal quickly is not an option as the animal can cause bodily harm. ]
