The Rise Of Moonstone Pack
Chapter One: by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> Close Encounter
The sun was high and the sky shining brightly over Yellowstone Park. As the sun beams down on through the earthy ceiling of a wolf pack’s den. The bright warm rays shine brightly on a white figure; its fur began to reflect the sun rays of its pelt making shine dimly within the den. The white wolf sighed softly and covered her eyes with her paws trying to block the sunlight, as the rays by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> started shining more brightly she finally gave up and removed her paws from her tired eyes. She tiredly looked around the den and notice that her family was still fast asleep, the she wolf stood and yawn loudly. She stretched out her tired limbs; her claws gripped the dirt tightly as she extended her spine more as her tail curl into a semi circle as she by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> continued stretching. She carefully and quietly moved her away across the sleeping bodies around her as she made her way out of the den. She slowly stepped out of the den, the bright sunlight blinded her slightly; she blinked once or twice adjusting her vision to the bright light. The she wolf carefully looked around her surroundings. Her white ears flickered at the sounds of nature all around her; she tilted her cranium upwards and got a look at the clear morning sky. Clouds slowly cruised past by at a slow and steady pace, which made the she wolf eyes following them by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> closely.
She slowly starting walking away from the den where her family were still asleep, her fur blew gentle against the warm soft winds as she venture further and further away from the safety of the den to the open fields where she could easily been seen by hunters or rival wolves that could easily kill her within a second. A low rustle startle the she wolf as she quickly whip around to figure out what that noise, she jerked her head left then right her ears moving in every direction trying to pin point where the sound was coming from. The rustling seem to get louder as it got closer to her, “Who’s there!” She barked loudly, her soft sapphire eyes looked wearily out in the distance. The rustling seem to stop for a second, “I’m warning you, who’s ever there you better back off!” Her black lips curled as she started snarling in defense. Her white ears twitched at the sound and she looked down to only see a small mouse looking up at her with a blank stare. Her ears folded against her head as she sighed in relief, “*phew* It was only a mouse…” The she wolf chuckled and lowered herself to the ground, until she was eye to eye with the small creature. “Okay little fella you can go now…” She blew her breath slightly causing the mouse to squeak and scurry back into the long green grass.
The white she wolf stood back up and turn her direction back towards the den, “I should probably be heading back…My family should be up by now.” She thought to herself as she started making her way back to the den.
A slow smile spread across her lips as she stood seeing her family out and about outside, the she wolf happily bounded towards them chuckling happily. “Good morning everyone!” Her tail wagged happily as she walked up to them.
“What are you so cheerful about…?” A creamy golden she wolf said in a melodramatic tone as she stretched. The white she wolf frown slightly at the wolf shaking her head slightly, “Good morning Nadie.” A golden and hazel wolf approach the white wolf with a warm and welcoming smile on her face. Nadie smiled softly and nuzzled the she wolf her tail wagging happily once again, “Good morning mom.” She took a step back giving her mother a warm and friendly lick across her cheek that made the golden and hazel she wolf laugh softly.
A dark golden wolf pup bounded happily up towards Nadie and her mother yipping playfully, “Good morning mom, good morning Nadie!” He jumped playfully his tail wagging with excitement, his body filled with boundless of energy ready to by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> start the day. “Good morning to you too Fang! I see someone’s ready to start the day.” Nadie chuckled as she playfully bumped his hip with her nose causing the young pup to bark playfully licking her nose softly with his small tongue. A loud grumbling nose causing everyone’s ears to perk up in alert, “Oh umm sorry… I guess I’m a little hungry.” Fang ears lowered as he gave them a cute toothy grin. Nadie and her mother chuckled.
“Hmmm I guess we can go get something eat, what do you think mom?”
The hazel and golden she wolf tilted her head to the side and thought about it, “Alright I guess we can find something around here…” The she wolf soft emerald green eyes scan the area to see if there were any places that may look like it may have any source of food around here. She then spotted what look like a fresh trail in the long grass, “I think if we follow that trail we may find some prey.”
“Good idea!” Fang said.
Nadie looked over at her mother and nodded her head in agreement. “Hey Willow are you in!” The white she wolf barked looking back at her older sister. The creamy golden wolf sighed and shrug her shoulders walking up to them, “I guess…” She rolled her eyes slightly. Their mother looked at them and smile, “Alright then let’s go!” The older she wolf picked up her son by his scruff and with a few bounds she ran off towards the trail with her daughters following closely behind her.
On the other side of the valley where Nadie and her family were, was also a pack of wolves at least four following the same trail that the white she wolf and her family were on, leading them was a large dark grey wolf. His ears stood attentive while his eyes were concentrated on what was in front him with his pack following closely behind him. His jet black nose took in deep large amounts of air as he began to sniff the air looking for prey. He stopped and lowered his neck his nose pressing against the trail as he began to pick up the fresh scent of elk on the trail. “They shouldn’t be far…” He said deeply as he trek forward. As the small pack by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> continued walking, a slightly smaller wolf walked up the large dark grey wolf his cranium lean forward sniffing the air. His eyes squint slightly as a low growl rumble in his throat. The alpha male ears twitched slightly at the sound and his eyes turn their gaze from ahead towards the other wolf. “What’s wrong brother?” The large male asked softly, a hint of concern mingle in his serious and deep voice.
“There are more wolves in this area…” He growled softly, his fur began to bristle with anger at the thought of other wolves trying to still their prey. Dagger looked from his brother and leaned forward tilting his head slightly up smelling the air. A playful smirked slowly spread across his lips as he looked over at his younger brother, “Your getting tense from a bunch of females Castiel.” The dark grey wolf golden eyes widen as he looked over at his older brother, “I am not afraid of a bunch females!” He frowns slightly as Dagger throws his head back laughing.
A brownish-auburn wolf quickly bounded up to their sides, “Did I hear females are in this area?” He waggle his eyebrows seductively a charming grin form on his maw. Dagger and Castiel sighed shaking their heads, “Yeah there are some females in the area… But little Cast is afraid of them.” Both the alpha and the brownish-auburn wolf started laughing as Castiel lowered his ears frowning looking ahead. “Aww come on cheer Castiel we were just joking around.” The brownish-auburn said playfully hip bumping the beta. “Besides if there are females there is a chance—“
“That you can finally burn all your frustration out on all of them Kodiak.” A golden brown wolf stated walking up to his side. Kodiak eyes widen as he felt his cheeks turn a deep red, “W-what! I wasn’t going to do any of that…” He smiled nervously. “Yeah sure…” They all said in unison rolling their eyes looking at him. “Before I was interrupted by Nanuk here…” He playfully nudged him on the shoulder with his nose both them laughing at the action. “I was going to say we should let them join the pack.” He suggested. Everyone looked over at Dagger waiting for an answer.
Dagger sighed looking away from them turning his gaze forward again, “I don’t know… We don’t even know if they belong to a pack.” He stated causing them all to the think about it for a moment. “How we would know if we don’t find out.” Castiel grinned over at his brother who sighed and shook his head, “Alright fine, we will see who these females are…” Everyone smiled and mentally did back flips; Dagger stopped and took another sniff at the air. The wind blew softly across his nose as he picked up the scent of the other wolves west of the direction to where the prey was and led them the other direction. Dagger had a mixture of good and bad feelings about meeting these other wolves that he had never seen before. For some reason that good feeling meant that his pack could expand once again but the bad feeling meant that these could be dangerous and possible they could be a distraction for them and allow the rest of their pack to ambush them. The feelings caused the dark grey alpha fur began to tingle and rise with confusion, he sighed and shook his fur shaking away some of those mix feelings away.
Nadie and the rest of her family were still following the trail their mother led them on. The hazel and golden wolf stopped, she sat Fang down. Her head tilting upwards slightly her nose began sniffing the air. Nadie and Willow quickly trotted up to their mother’s side doing the same action she was doing. “Mom…” The white she wolf said nervously looking over at her mother. There was no response the older she wolf just looked out towards the distance where the scent was coming from. “Wolves…” She said softly soft emerald green eyes had some type of serious intense glare in them. Nadie’s ears flatten against her cranium as she whimpered softly, “W-what do we do?” She asked nervously. Willow growled in annoyance, “The only thing we can do…fight!” She snapped angrily at the white she wolf causing her to flinch slightly. Willow frowned at her before looking in the same direction her mother was in. Nadie sighed and look over at her sister, “We’re not going to fight…” She said softly, but this time she didn’t flinch or lower herself against the ground when Willow gave her an ice cold glare. Willow was about to open her muzzle to yell at her sister, “Your sister is right Willow…We don’t know how many wolves are coming this direction. The only thing we can do is sit wait for their arrival.” Willow eyes widen as her muzzle snapped shut.
“Why can’t we run mother?” Fang said looking up at her. The hazel and golden she wolf shift her gaze from the trail down towards her son, “Because their already close and if we run they may chase after us…” The pup ears flatten as he quickly hid behind her foreleg quivering in fear. She turned her direction back towards her son and face the direction where the scent of the wolves were coming from, she could already see a figure closing on them at the moment.
Dagger and the others ears stood attentive and his tail slightly raised, he could see them. His eyes squinted slightly as a growl of uneasiness rumble in his throat as he came closer to the strange wolves. Nadie and Willow ears flatten as their mother remained standing there with her tail slightly raised and her ears stood attentive, she wasn’t going to roll over and by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> submit like a coward she was going to stand her protecting her family from any pack no matter how many wolves there are. A low and defensive growl began rumble in her throat as her lips began to slowly rise showing her white fangs. Nadie saw how brave her mother was and her tail began to raise slightly, a low and unsteady growl escape her lips as she saw the wolves come closer.
The dark grey alpha and his pack stood there eyeing the wolves curiously and aggressively at the same time. Dagger took one step forward his dark golden eyes dart back and forth on the wolves until they stop on the young she-wolves. His eyes slightly widen as he eyed slowly up and down a slow smile spread across his lips. The hazel and gold wolf didn’t like the way he stared at her daughters, she jumped in front of them her fur bristle and her fangs bore as she snarled viciously at Dagger. The dark grey alpha ears flatten as his lips curled into a vicious snarl as he took one step towards the older she wolf, Nadie's soft sapphire eyes widen slightly then she jumped in front of her mother growling fiercely at the dark grey wolf. Her eyes held an intense and dangerous glare that made Dagger stop snarling, he looked at the white she wolf a slight whimper escape his lips. His pack stood their ground furs bristle and claws extended preparing their selves for a fight; all they did was begun to wait for the command.
Dagger took a deep breath and sighed calming down, “My apologies if I scared any of your family…” He said in a polite and calm tone.
“Scared…” Willow scoffed looking at the alpha male.
The dark grey wolf raised an eyebrow at the golden cream she wolf. Her soft emerald green eyes locked right into his, she wasn’t going to back down that easily from a staring contest. Dagger looked away from her before turning his attentions back towards Nadie and her mother, “Please forgive me for my rude intrusion…” He said in his most charming and polite voice he could muster that made his pack snicker and chuckle slightly. He shot his head back quickly growling slightly causing them to stop and look attentive once again. Dagger flared his nostrils snorting slightly before looking back at the females once again.
“Please tell me…What are your names?” He asked.
The hazel and gold wolf step away from behind her daughter and walked towards the dark grey alpha, her ears were pushed forward while her tail was raised showing her best alpha stance she knows. “My name is Aiyana. These are my daughters. My eldest is name Willow and my youngest is named Nadie…And this is my only son Fang.” Aiyana said in calm and steady voice eyeing the large brute in front of her and the pack of wolves behind him. Dagger took one small step forward towards Aiyana, she gasp slightly before regaining her alpha stance once again a slow steady growl began to in her throat. The dark grey alpha kept himself calm as he looked into her soft emerald eyes, “My name is Dagger… And I’m leader of the Moonstone Pack.” His voice boomed loudly as he lifted his muzzle slightly and his chest began to poke out. “This is my beta and also my brother Castiel…And these are my pack mates Kodiak and Nanuk.” All three wolves dip their heads in respect after their leader’s presentation.
“And you will like us to join your pack?” Aiyana asked lifting one eyebrow in question. Dagger nodded his head, “Yes…”
She looked back at her daughters and her son, a worried glance flash in her eyes. Aiyana thought about it, the safety of her pups lied in her paws and if she declines the protection of an alpha and his pack could put her family at risk. The dangers of being attack by humans or another pack were large. She clenched her soft emerald green eyes clenched softly then she look back at Dagger her eyes locking into his intense stare, “We accept your offer…” She said softly.
A slow and steady smile spread across his lips as he dips his head, “Welcome to Moonstone Pack…”
Willow approach Dagger her ears flatten as her tail started wagging as she pressed her nose under his chin and began to sniff his neck. Dagger smiled and lean his muzzle over to her shoulder and began to take her scent, accepting the new member. Fang bounded up to the three older wolves and started sniffing their forelegs wagging his tail excitedly at new pack members. Kodiak, Castiel, and Nanuk chuckled slightly as they lowered their heads smelling and nuzzling the small pup accepting him. Aiyana padded up to the three wolves as she began sniffing them adjusting to their scents and also to keep a close eye on them to make sure they don’t hurt Fang.
As Dagger was getting well acquainted will Willow, he looked over to see Nadie was hanging back and not introducing herself to the other wolves. A slight bark was heard and he looked over to see Castiel trotting happily up to Nadie. He slightly pressed his nose against hers and began smelling her, “Hi!” He said happily wagging his tail. Nadie ears flatten as she looked down, “H-hello…” She said softly her ears flatten as she looked away, her eyes lowered towards the ground instead of looking up at her new pack mate’s. “I’m Castiel, Dagger’s younger brother and beta…” He said giving her a warm welcoming smile. A slow steady smile spread across her lips as she looked up at the dark grey wolf. “I’m Nadie…” She said her eyes looking into his eyes.
“Please to meet you Nadie… I hope you like being a part of Moonstone pack!” He barked happily.
Nadie chuckled softly at Castiel’s sweet and kind nature, “I think I’m going to like it here Castiel.” She said looking at beta.
Dagger began to walk off with Willow walking by his side. Nanuk, Kodiak, Aiyana, and Fang walked side by side talking and laughing with Castiel and Nadie following closely behind them. The dark grey alpha was leading them to his den where he and his pack stayed for the time being. Nadie watched closely, her eyes moving from her mother and Fang towards Nanuk and Kodiak, then averted her gaze towards Dagger and Willow. Her eyes stayed focus on Dagger for a moment then she turn her gaze back towards the open grassy plains before them. Nadie sighed as she tried to look forward at the Valley before her but it was hard, because it was either Dagger’s head or Willow’s hip that kept getting in the way. “Umm Castiel do you mind if I walk ahead?” She asked politely hoping that she wasn’t going to hurt his feelings in any kind of way.
Castiel smiled, “Go ahead… I don’t mind.” He chuckled. Nadie smiled and started walking forward; her pace was sort of quick as she walked past Nanuk. The golden brown wolf tilted his head to the side watching the white she wolf catch up to Dagger and Willow, he shook his head and continue listening to some Aiyana’s story about how Fang got stuck in a tree log, the young pup began complaining while the others laughed. Nadie’s took a deep breath as she began walking side by side with Dagger; her soft sapphire blue eyes looked warily at the large alpha. He was large; his muscles seem to show through his thick dark grey fur. The same intense stare she saw earlier seem to soften quite a bit as she gazed deep into his dark golden eyes, as if they seem to hold a story in them. The white she wolf cheeks flushed deeply as she quickly looked away, embarrass at how she stared at him. Nadie adjusted her vision from Dagger towards the open grass fields.
The warm wind blew calmly across the open plains; Nadie smiled softly and lifted her head up feeling the wind blew calmly across her white fur. For some reason the warm winds were quite soothing to her, they seem to sing a song that made all her uneasiness and fears go away within a second. A small and soft sigh made her black lips curved into a warm smile, as she felt at a peace once again.
The dark grey alpha eyes shifted away from Willow straight ahead. His nose twitched slightly as he scented another wolf walking on the other side of him, he shifted his gaze slowly away from in front to a white she wolf walking beside him. His dark golden eyes widen slightly as he looked at her, Dagger felt his heart began racing once again when he first saw Nadie. Something about her made him feel weird and weak on the inside, the dark grey wolf sighed as he began to suppress those thoughts and focus on now his large pack which would be larger by by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> next spring… If he plays his cards right. Dagger cleared his throat, “Hello there Nadie…” He said in a gentle and deep voice. The white she wolf broke from her thoughts and looked over at Dagger, “H-hello Dagger…” Nadie ears flatten against her head as she lowered her gaze from him and towards the ground. Dagger’s golden eyes soften as he looked at her, “You don’t have to afraid of me you know.” Nadie averted her gaze towards him looking unsurely at him; he just smiled softly at her. Nadie sighed as she looked away from him, “I’m not afraid of you…Just unsure to trust you or not.” She stated in calm yet stern voice.
Dagger ears flatten against his head as he looked away from her, he felt ashamed at the moment an alpha that doesn’t have the full trust of his pack mate made his stomach drop and felt his pride slowly start to disperse. “Oh why don’t you shut your mouth Nadie, what do you know about him!” Willow growl at her. Nadie frown at Willow and her unnecessary behavior, “And you do?” The white she wolf retorted causing Willow to stop growling and frown at her.
She looked away from her older sister and looked ahead once again, her fur began to bristle in anger as she tried to calm down but her older sister was pushing her buttons to the point that she could just lash out at her in an instant. “No! She’s your sister…” Nadie thought as she began to calm down.
He looked at her closely, he was about to say something until his dark golden eyes spotted the den. “Is that your den Dagger?” The cream golden she wolf asked her tail began wagging excitedly as her soft emerald green eyes widen in amazement. Dagger chuckled as he smiled at the she wolf, “Yes it is! Me and the others made it ourselves…”
“Hmmm is that why you’re so big and strong.” Willow hipped pressed against his as she rubbed her head against his neck. Nadie frown and felt her stomach churn as she felt some of her food began to quickly flow up her throat.
The pack arrived at the den. Dagger had a pretty large den it was large enough to have about twenty wolves to fit in there. His den was a cleft between two rocks; the entrance was about thirty inches wide and thirty-nine inches tall. On the outside of the entrance the cave was covered with green grass and small flowers, around it had a few large oak trees growing around it. He also had a slanted rock only a few inches away from it with a small pond in the back of it. Nadie’s eyes widen at the beauty of it, she couldn’t by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> help but smile at the scenery she began to imagine herself running and playing around the den with her younger brother or resting by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> next to her mother listening to her stories about her past or when she was pups. Or she could just be sleeping under one of the large oak trees just being lazy and enjoying a warm sunny afternoon.
“You have a beautiful den Dagger…” Nadie complemented him as she turned and look at him. Dagger smiled softly at her, “It’s not just my den…it’s the pack’s also.” The white she wolf returned the smile towards him. They looked at each other for a moment; Nadie felt her cheeks began to burn as she quickly jerked her head looking away from Dagger hoping that he didn’t see her red cheeks. Dagger just by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> closed his eyes as he chuckled looking forward also.
Hey You Guys I'm Back After My Dreadful Cold and Only Had Time To Finish Chapter Two. I hope you guys like it enjoy!!!! :3
Chapter Two: Adjusting
Everyone was resting peacefully around the den. Aiyana was resting watching the pack around in a daze as she allowed Fang to suckle from her. Castiel and Kodiak were wrestling and tussling around like a bunch of yearlings. Nanuk was rolled onto his back as he slept soundly against one of the large oak trees that surrounded the den. Willow and Dagger were lying side by side watching the mountain range as the grass blew gentle making it seem more peaceful. Within in a few hours Willow started to grow attached the alpha always flirting and talking to him, whenever getting the chance she would sometimes cuddle up against the alpha she began to have a crush on him but she only hope that he would return feelings right back towards her. Nadie stood on top of the rock and her eyes would eyed every single wolf below her, for some reason she couldn’t help but feel left out from the others. She enjoyed seeing her family happy but she couldn’t adjust to being in a pack with other wolves yet. The white she wolf lowered her head slightly, she turned around walking off the slanted rock.
Nadie started walking away from the pack and made her way towards the woods that weren’t too far away from the den. The white she wolf walked past her mother not even acknowledging her, she didn’t want to disturb her anyway she looked to happy and peaceful. A slow and uneasy sigh escape her lips as she venture further away from the pack, her eyes looked dimly ahead as her head slightly lowered as she began to disappear into the woods.
Castiel tackled Kodiak attack on the ground, his left paw pressed against his chest while the other playfully batted Kodiak on the top of his head laughing as the brownish-auburn began nipping at his foreleg. As they laughed the beta’s eyes widen as he notice that one of his pack members went missing. He leaped off of Kodiak and started looking around noticing that Nadie was nowhere to be seen. He lowered his muzzle towards the ground and began to sniff around, his muzzle frantically move around along the ground. Castiel’s dark golden eyes widen slightly as he capture her scent and notice that led towards the woods. He looked back at Kodiak, “I’ll be back…” He bounded off towards the woods trailing behind Nadie. Kodiak furrowed his eyebrows in question as he watched his cousin leave unexpectedly then he shrugged off looking over at Nanuk who was soundly asleep. A slow and devilish smirked formed across the brownish-auburn wolf as he quietly began stalking the sleeping wolf snickering to himself.
The white she wolf walked alone, her soft sapphire blue eyes looked around the woods around her. She felt more at peace being here alone then being with the others, Nadie’s jet black nose began take in the smells of the forest as her ears took in its sounds. The sounds of various birds echoed around and it made her smile listening to each different song a bird would produce. The sounds of insect began to mingle with the whistling noses of the birds, as it began to make a whole new sound of music. Her ears twitched at every sound as her tail wagged with every beat she heard it made her giggle like a young pup as she continue on walking. The white she wolf thoughts about the others began to drift away as she venture further into the woods their scents were drifting away as she smelt a new scent of peace and what it smelled like was freedom. A loud crunching nose made Nadie stop and caused her ears to move in every direction as the crunching noise had gotten louder and faster moving right towards her. Her white fur began to bristle as her claws extended preparing herself to fight, a low growl rumble loudly in her throat as she turned in face the sound. Nadie’s heart began racing, she didn’t know what was coming towards but she couldn’t let it scare her. The sound was loud enough that she can strike whatever was coming towards her. Nadie’s body began to hunch up as it began to burn ready to pounce, with a snarl she leaped into the air. Her jaws were open showing off her large and deadly sharp fangs, her forelegs were stretched out as her claws were unsheathe as they were ready to scrape and grip on anything that they pressed on. Nadie’s eyes turned into slits as she saw her target in her sights, her paws pressed firmly against it chest as she knock it down to the ground. Her paws pressed firmly against it chest as she pin whatever it was that was following her, the white she wolf bared her fangs as she started growling viciously at it.
Her vicious nature dropped as her eyes widen realizing who it was, “H-hi Nadie…” It was Castiel. His dark golden eyes widen as he panted slightly looking up at the she wolf in surprise.
Nadie shook her head and backed off the beta, her ears flatten against her head as she looked at him in question. “What are you doing here?” She asked watching him stand up. Castiel chuckled softly shaking off his dark grey pelt, “I should be asking you the same question ma’am…” He said in a playful voice. The white she wolf sighed as a sweat dropped appeared on her head, “I was just going for a walk that’s all…” She rolled her eyes as she stood up walking off, Castiel eyebrows furrowed in worried than he quickly walked up to her side. “Is that all you were doing?” He asked looking over at her. The white she wolf nodded her head, “You know you still haven’t answered my question.” Her eyes shifted over toward him as she smirked playfully at him. Castiel eyes closed as he grin snickering, “Well I notice you were missing so I decided to come look for you.” The dark grey wolf turn a light shade of pink as he felt a little embarrassed. The white she wolf looked away from him and looked forward, “So it’s the beta’s job to look for wolves that stray or go missing from the pack.” She said her eyebrows furrowed slightly at him in confusion and also anger. “No it’s the whole pack’s job to find any missing pack member.” His dark golden eyes looked blankly at her.
Nadie sighed and closed her eyes slightly before opening them once, “Pack…” that word made her mind wonder in question as she thought back about her mom her brother, and sister. A shaky breath escapes her lips as she looked over at Castiel who was just starring at her. It made her body burn up like it does when Dagger looks at her like that for some she thought it was just her being nervous or just upset looking at them, she couldn’t really tell because her emotions were at war with her right now.
“Umm Nadie are you okay?” She just nodded her head slowly.
Castiel sighed and averted gaze from hers lowering his eyes towards the ground sighing softly, “Nadie do you like the Moonstone pack?” Nadie’s eyes slightly widen at the question.
Dagger stood up and stretches, he decided to check up on the others and needed some breathing room from Willow not that he minded her being close up on him it’s just he needed a little a bit space right now. He padded over to Aiyana, a smile of joy spread across his lips listening to Fang complains about getting a bath. “Hello there Aiyana.” He greeted the hazel and golden she wolf, Her soft emerald green eyes turned away from her struggling pup up at her new leader smiling warmly up at him, “Why hello there Dagger, how are you?” She asked him. The dark grey alpha smiled at her, “I’m doing fine…So are you enjoying being a part of the pack so far?” He asked. “Indeed I am! Fang is happy that he has more chew toys to play with! And my eldest daughter has quite a liking to you.” They both laughed but then her beautiful white pelted daughter ran across her mind. Aiyana notice that she was distant from the others and hadn’t once talked to anyone ever since they joined earlier in the day it made her worry a little. Her smile dropped and her soft emerald green eyes dimmed a little, “But I do fear one thing…” She lowered her gaze towards the ground. Dagger face turned a bit serious as he gazes worriedly at the hazel and gold wolf, “Its Nadie…” She said sadly looking at her leader. The dark grey alpha sighed longingly as his ears flatten against his head, “Nadie is a very spirited young she wolf but also she has a side to her that makes it hard for her to be accept it by others. She’s more like her father, she respects other wolves and creatures but she would never find herself talking or making any type of friendships with them. Though she is kind-hearted and fair it takes time for to adjust to new things and new people…” Dagger looked down at the ground and then back up at Aiyana, “I hope she is comfortable here within the pack…” Aiyana just smiled softly at the alpha, “Don’t worry she’ll find her place here.” Dagger returns the smile before he started walking over to Nanuk and Kodiak.
As he made his way towards Nanuk and Kodiak he notice that Castiel wasn’t around and also Nadie. His dark golden eyes widen.
It was an uncomfortable silence between Nadie and Castiel, “Do you like the Moonstone pack?” That question by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> continued to spin around in her head. Nadie did and also didn’t like the pack at the same time. She couldn’t put in words and explain at the same time. She inhale deeply and exhale gathering all the words that she was going to say, Nadie looked over at Castiel. “Yes…and n-no.” The white she wolf lowered her head and felt her ears laid flat against her cranium as she looked down at the ground. Castiel cocked his head to the side and slightly frowned at her, “What do you mean yes and no?” Nadie slowly looked up at him and sighed, “I do like the pack but for some reason I can’t adjust to it…” She said sadly looking away from her eyes stared dimly at the woods in front of her.
“But your mom, your sister, and your little brother seem to get along with everyone quite well. Why not you?” He pointed out. The white she wolf just shook her head and thought about it, “That’s because they know how to accept changes more quickly than I can.” Nadie said looking out in the distance. Castiel looked at her, “What do you mean?” He asked. Nadie frown her eyes had an intense and serious glow in them that made Castiel shrink back slightly, “I’m just like my father…” She said softly, “We respect our own kind and other creatures but I wouldn’t really associate with them… Some reason I have a hard time socializing with other people, I never did before but after my father past away… I began to distant myself away from any creature or any new wolves that seem to approach us in a friendly matter. I may seem to act differently around my own family because I’m use to them. Did that answer your question?” She said in a low voice. Castiel sighed and nodded his head slowly, “I think you’re going like here Nadie…” He smiled warmly at her; Nadie sighed and had a coy smile plastered across her lips.
Nadie stopped her ears twitch at a rumbling sound. Castiel looked at her and tilted his head to the side, “What’s going on?” He asked worriedly. She ignore his question and started following the noise, her eyes began to spark with curiosity as she began to trot off following the sound forgetting that Castiel was following behind her. The beta was just silent his ears began to move around as he picked up the same sound she was listening to. Their ears stood attentive as they move a steady and quick pace, both of their jet black noses began to take in the scent of the woods around. Nadie and Castiel main focus was on the loud thunderous sound that felt like it could cause an earthquake. The sound began to get louder as they began make their way towards an opening in the forest, Nadie stopped her eyes widen at the sight while Castiel looked in amazement. There were elk by the millions coming from the north back to the south during the spring and summer to graze, breed, and also give birth to new life. Nadie watched as they turned the green valley to a brown with so many bodies in that one place, Castiel crouch down panting excitedly as his tail wagged a mile a minute. “Come on Nadie we can take one of them down!” He leaped but he yelped loudly feeling a sharp pain on his tail causing him to fall flat on his stomach.
He looked back at Nadie with half closed eyes and a frown, “What was that for!” He barked at her. But she held no emotion and shook her head, “We should wait and tell the pack about this.” She suggested looking down at the beta. Castiel sighed and nodded his head agreement, “How about you tell Dagger and the rest while I’ll stay waiting for you guys.” He said in a serious tone looking at the elk, Nadie nodded and turn within a few bounds she began running back towards the den.
Dagger was running back with Aiyana after looking in the forest behind the den. They ran up to the others who were standing in a circle panting and had worried looks on their faces having no luck in finding Nadie and Castiel. Dagger and Aiyana walked up to the others looking at them, “Any luck?” He asked. Everyone’s head lowered to the ground whimpering slightly, Willow padded up to him and rubbed her head under his chin, “What are we going to do Dagger?” She said burying her muzzle in his chest. The dark grey looked down at the golden cream wolf before moving away from her he looked at everyone with a sad look on his face. Then his ears perked at a sound he looked in that direction to see the beautiful white she by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> wolf running towards them. “Mother!” She called running towards them panting. Aiyana quickly bolted towards her daughter’s voice, happiness lighten her eyes as she ran towards her. Nadie ears flatten as she whimpered apologetically, Aiyana rubbed her head against the back of her neck smiling softly, “Where were you?” The hazel and gold she wolf licked her cheek. Just as she was going to explain she saw the rest of them running up towards her with bright and happy smiles on their faces. This made her tilted her head to the side whining slightly in confusion, “Were you guys worried about me?”
“Yeah silly!” Nanuk trotted up to her and playfully bumped her cheek with his nose; it made her laugh slightly as she repeated the same action. Everyone laughed, and then Nadie stopped when she saw Dagger slowly approach with nervous mix relief smile on his lips. “Everyone’s glad that your back…But where is Castiel?” He asked warily as he looked from her then back at the forest hoping he appears. “That is what I’m about to get to.”
Nadie began to explain how she and Castiel spotted millions of herds of elk on the other side of the woods. “Lead us to the elk that you saw…” Dagger said softly, Nadie nodded her head and bolted off in the direction where Castiel sat and waits with everyone following closely behind her.
Castiel sighed as he started become impatient. His stomach began growling just watching all the tasty looking elk walked past him teasing him every time one would walk past him. He began imagine sinking his fangs into their juicy flesh, his mouth began to drool at the sight as his tongue rolled out of his mouth. He looked left and right to see if anyone was watching him, “Maybe one wouldn’t hurt anybody…” He took one pre cautious step forward. “You can’t have all the fun to yourself Casty!” The beta jerked his head to see his brother coming towards them with a playful smirked after calling him by his nickname. Castiel frown and shook his head. Dagger just smiled and walked to his side, his dark golden eyes looked at the herds before him. His gaze darted back and forth thinking about the target or should he just rush in and maybe get lucky to take one down. “It will be easier to circle or separate a herd and manage to separate an old or weak one…” Dagger’s eyes widen he didn’t even notice that Nadie was standing by CrossBrowse-3.1v"> next to him. “It might work.” He said. Dagger turned walked up to the pack with Nadie by his side.
“Nadie’s has given me a great idea and how we’re going to take down our lunch…” Willow growled softly while everyone stood attentive listening to the plan. “We’re going to pair up and circle the herds and separate one from the herd.” Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
“Castiel you and Nanuk will pair up. Aiyana, Kodiak, and Nadie you will pair up, and Willow you’ll work with me.” Willow had a victory smile spread across her lips as she walked up to Dagger’s side with her muzzle in the air, she looked at Nadie and stuck her tongue out before she stood next to the dark grey alpha pressing her head against his shoulder. The white she wolf rolled her eyes frowning slightly at her older sister, she just walked up to her mother and Kodiak. “I guess my cousin paired me up with the two finest wolves in the pack.” Kodiak growled seductively making Aiyana giggle and blush madly while Nadie just shook her head rolling her eyes in disgust. “Nanuk and Castiel you’ll stalk the herd from behind…” They both nodded their heads before trotted off; Castiel walked up to Nadie and nuzzled her cheek, “Good luck!” He said quickly trotting away. Nadie soft sapphire blue eyes widen as her cheeks begin to turn a shade of crimson red, she was glad Castiel wasn’t there to see her flush face. “Koda you and your group take the herd from the side…” Kodiak nodded his head before turning walking away with Aiyana following him; Nadie turned her head to see only Willow flirting with Dagger. The white she wolf frowned and turned quickly catching up with her mother and Kodiak.
They waited patiently in the thick cover of small trees and bushes, “We will wait for the signal…” Kodiak said looking out scanning the open spaces in the herd looking for Dagger. “What is the signal?” Aiyana asked standing next to the brownish-auburn wolf. He looked at her his dark green eyes showing a hint of lust mixture of playfulness in his eyes, “I’m glad you asked sweetheart.” He winked at her; Aiyana turned her head blushing madly as she lowered her eyes towards the ground smiling sweetly. It has been a while since Aiyana had any sort of male attention towards ever since she had pups and when her mate past away. “When Dagger sprints out that’s when we come out from the side causing the herd to turn towards Nanuk and Castiel, then that’s when they come out and cause the herd to split into two or more. Once they split that’s when we start to hunt…” Kodiak looked at Aiyana who nodded her head in understanding while Nadie just sat there listening to the instructions while looking at the herd.
“But while we wait…we can have a little fun…” Kodiak lean in close to Aiyana, her face begin to turn a bright red as his muzzle almost pressed against hers. Nadie began growling at Kodiak warning him off, he turned and faces her with a devilish smirked formed across his lips, “Oh do you want to join in the fun…” He said walking up to her, Nadie took a small step back as he closes the huge gap between them. Aiyana shook her head and sighed regretting letting her guard down like that around Kodiak, “Okay you guys that’s enough… We should be paying attention.” Kodiak nodded his head while Nadie resume her position looking through the bush and small trees.
There was a long silence; Nadie’s eyes continue to scan through herds seeing if she can see any dark grey or golden cream figures possible even the herd move at least. Her ears began to twitch as she kept them attentive listening and observing. Suddenly something spooks the herd and they took to the back, Nadie claws gripped the ground as she prepares to sprint out of hiding. “NO wait!” Kodiak quickly said placing his paw in front of her preventing her to move.
Nadie watched as the herds made a mad dash towards the back where Nanuk and Castiel lied and wait. Sounds of the thunderous hooves made impact against the ground making it sound a dangerous earthquake as sounds of distress calls and confusion echoed through the valley. Out of the blue it was Willow and Dagger running side by side, as they trail quickly behind each other. Willow’s tongue hangs freely from her mouth as she ran across the valley towards the herds. Dagger kept a steady and fast pace as he began to speed up past Willow like a machine that doesn’t stop, his muscles and joints worked together as one as they pushed him forward towards his prey. Sounds of barks and growls made Nadie jerked her head to the back where the herds were trying to escape to only see Castiel and Nanuk sprinting across the battle field now. The elk were now afraid and confused cows and their calves were separated, some of the elk were trample within the confusion as they continue to run. Nadie watched the mayhem somewhat forgetting that she was now going to make the herds split within a few seconds. Her soft sapphire blue eyes watched as Dagger, Willow, Castiel, and Nanuk were now running in a unit Dagger and Willow in the lead while Nanuk and Castiel ran behind them.
“NOW!” Kodiak snarled as he sprinted out of hiding to the side of the herd with Aiyana running closely behind him. Nadie shook her head and quickly dashed out hiding she growled to herself mentally cursing to herself for not paying attention. Nadie’s ears flatten against her head as her front and back legs began to move as one, her speed began to gain as she ran past her mother. Her body began to burn with excitement and adrenaline as she began excelling her speed past Kodiak. Her soft sapphire eyes widen with excitement as she edge closer to the side of the herds, she turned her head back at Kodiak who nodded his head. Nadie looked forward again and she snarled loudly, her jaws open wide as she nipped one of the elk that was on the side causing it to run through the middle others quickly falling behind it now splitting it into two. The white wolf continues her chase, her eyes now looking around for a strangling or old one within the splitting herds. Then she looked to her right now seeing Dagger and the rest running with her now. Nadie’s ears twitched at the sound of heavy paw steps quickly coming from beside her, she looked to see Dagger was sprinting past her with amazing power and speed. She watched as he began to take the lead, guiding the pack towards the herds.
Elk by the dozens began separating one going to the east and the other to the west, within the confusion an old bull was strangling behind the mayhem. A loud vicious bark came from Dagger as he finally found his target. His dark golden eyes laid his eyes on the old bull, his fangs bared as he ushered on. Willow was running with Nadie and Dagger she looked over at her little sister growling at her as if she warning to back off, but Nadie refused and snorted. Now frustrated Nadie began speeding up past Dagger and the others, her body began to move like shooting star across the night sky. Her teeth bared as she edge closer to the old bull, her ears twitched as she could hear his audible puffing and huffing trying to keep up with the others. The white she wolf was running side by side with the bull, her jaws open widely as snapped tightly on the bull’s hip. The bull yelped in pain as he began jumping and kicking at the sudden pain that shot through his body, the old elk manage to knock off Nadie of him. The white wolf whimpered slightly but she manages to regain her footing and continue running. Now she was running in between Dagger and Willow, the dark grey alpha sped up and was now on the bull’s flank he bit down on the bull’s flank growling viciously as he got a good grip on it. The bull cried and started kicking and shaking as he continues on running on for his life was now lingering. Dagger kept ahead then Castiel and Kodiak were starting to keep up, they sped past the two sisters as they started barking and snarling as they reached both sides of the hips, at the same time they jaws snapped down on its hips as they began to draw blood from the old bull. He snorted and jumped slightly as he kicked Castiel hard enough that it sent the beta rolling while Kodiak dodge the dangerous kick and fell behind whimpering slightly.
Aiyana started running past the two sisters now Willow breaking away from Nadie now running with her mother, she looked back at her sister and smirked before she looked ahead again. Nadie growled softly as she kept running, her heartbeat began to pump faster as she kept running her tongue began to hang loosely from her mouth. Aiyana nipped at the bull’s forelegs while Willow bit down on his hindlegs, the bull shook them off crying in pain. The bull was now starting to slow down, covered in bite marks and blood but it kept pushing on he lived a long life as a leader and a father to many calves of this season and many seasons before that. The elk head tilted upward slightly as his hooves kept pushing on, his breathing was becoming more ragged and short as he ran on. Nadie saw how her mother began to fall back behind with Nanuk, Castiel, and Kodiak. Nadie pushed on as she was right back running with Willow again.
The golden cream she wolf snarled, “Hey catch this!” Willow lean over and snapped at her legs, Nadie jumped into the air her front and back legs were outstretched as she felt the wind blew against her white pelt. Everyone looked in amazement; even Willow felt her jaw drop to the ground. Nadie growled as her claws sunk down into the bull’s shoulders as her jaws gripped tightly around the back of the bull’s neck, couldn’t handle any more pain and blood lost the bull finally gave up the fight. He grunted and felled onto the ground, the white she wolf clenched her eyes shut as she embraced herself for the impact. The bull landed on his side, flinging Nadie slightly as she gripped tightly around the back of the neck as she landed roughly on her side. The rest quickly ran up to the fallen bull, Nanuk and Aiyana bit down on the bull hindlegs while Kodiak and Castiel began pulling and yanking on its forelegs, Willow bit down on the bull’s shoulders as Nadie kept her grip on back of the bull’s neck. As the bull struggle to get free, his black orbs widen as he saw a large dark grey wolf approach him growling viciously at him. Dagger lunges out his jaws wrapped firmly around his neck, as he began to choke it. The bull began to fight and struggle against the death grip of his neck, he felt the blood began rush to his windpipe as it began to choke on its own blood. Dagger growled as he gripped his neck tighter as he felt the blood rush into his mouth, the elk kicked a few times before finally taking its last breath now laid there lifeless and still. Before anyone could eat Aiyana ran quickly to fetch Fang from the hiding place she placed him in earlier.
Everyone stood there panting and caught their breaths resting their exhausted and almost overheated bodies. Aiyana came back trotted up to them with Fang dangling from her mouth as he whined and whimpered about being carried and that he wasn’t a newborn anymore. Aiyana just chuckled through the dark golden fur as she sat him down in front of the dead elk. The whole pack approaches the dead elk and began to gorge themselves into its juicy and delicate meat. Fang growled and snarled as he began to pull and tugs on its stomach trying to bite it open, everyone laughed as they watched the pup. Everyone was stuffed and full covered in blood and meat with stuffed bellies. Dagger stood up and began to lead his pack back to the den.
Chapter Three: Accepting
Everyone made it back to the den covered with blood and stuffed bellies. Aiyana picked up her pup by the scruff as she took him under a tree, she lay down on her full stomach and wrapped him firmly between her paws as she started licking and grooming, too full to complain Fang just sat there enjoying his bath for once. Kodiak didn’t really care right now about how dirty he was he just wanted to find a comfortable place to rest. He lied down against one of the oak trees looking half dozed off as he watched the scenery around him. Nanuk trotted up to him and lean over as he began to lick his face grooming his face, Kodiak sighed and shrugged his shoulders leaning up licking and grooming his friend also. Castiel didn’t have as much blood on him as everyone so he decided to lick himself from whatever red blotches that has gotten onto his pelt. Dagger was lying down on the grass watching his pack this time making sure no one was leaving under his vision. Willow padded up to Dagger wagging her tail, she lean down towards him and began to groom blood and pieces of meat of his face, the dark grey alpha sighed and slowly smiled. Nadie padded past everyone, her once luscious white pelt was now covered in dirt and blood. She walked to the back of the den and decided to just wash all of it off; Nadie curiously looked at the pond. The white she wolf carefully place her paw into the water, she then walked forward placing her whole body in the whole water. She began to splash and jump around cleaning off her pelt the dirt and blood wash away as she continued swimming around. Nadie feel that she was clean step out of the water dripping wet, she stood shaking off her body ridding the excess water that was trapped inside her thick pelt.
Nadie sighed and walked to the front of the den where everyone was resting. She stood and looked over to see Dagger and Willow were lying around while Castiel, Kodiak, and Nanuk were just wrestling too bored to just sit around and be lazy. The white she wolf padded towards the slanted rock, she walked up the structure her soft sapphire blue eyes looked up at the sky. She stood there her chest puffed out and her head tilted backwards as she gazes calmly up the sky. The wind blew calmly across her pelt, a joyous smiled spread across her lips as she closed her eyes as the wind continuing blowing across her pelt as it bristle and flow gentle against the air. Dagger looked up to see Nadie standing up on the slanted rock; his dark golden eyes stared at her closely. He watched as the wind blew against pelt, the smile on her lips and the joy in her eyes made the alpha stomach churn and tie into knots. His eyes to seem glue shut on the beautiful she wolf, a slow and wanting whimper began echo in his throat. “Is everything okay Dagger?” His ears shot up at the sound of Willow’s worried voice. He quickly turned his gaze away from Nadie and looked at Willow, “Everything is fine Willow…” He smiled at her before looking back up at Nadie.
The golden cream she wolf questioningly looked at Dagger, her soft emerald green eyes slowly followed his gaze up towards Nadie. An uneasy growl rumbles softly in her throat as her claws angrily gripped the dirt beneath her, as something began burn inside her about her sister. “That little brat…” She thought angrily as her fur began to bristle in anger as she looked away resting her head against the grass.
She slowly opens her eyes as she looked up at the sky. Nadie turned and padded down from the rock walking towards her mother. Dagger was following her every movement. His dark golden eyes couldn’t move away from her. He sighed and shook his head, the dark grey alpha stood up shaking his pelt off. Dagger started walking over to Aiyana and Nadie leaving Willow to lay by herself. He hesitantly padded up to them he took a deep breath of air and released calming down a bit.
“Good afternoon ladies…” He said smiling softly at them. Aiyana and Nadie looked at him, “Hello there Dagger.” The hazel and gold wolf greeted him with a warm and welcoming smile while Nadie just looked at him with a nervous yet questionable stare that made the alpha slightly nervous. For some reason the white she wolf made him weird, knots in his stomach, starting to become nervous, and always made his body burn with some type of emotion he couldn’t seem to figure out. Dagger remembers what Aiyana told him earlier, and smiled gentle at them. “That was a successful hunt we had.” Aiyana chimed in making Dagger look at her smiling, “Yeah that was the first successful hunt we had this summer.” Nadie lifted her eyebrow in confusion as she looked over at her mother, but Aiyana continued looking over at Dagger. “Yeah that was my first full meal in months…” The both chuckled while Nadie just continue watching and listening. Dagger turned his gaze from Aiyana. He locked his piercing dark golden eyes into Nadie’s soft sapphire blue ones, “And you Nadie…You did a great job taking down that bull.” He said smiling at her. The white wolf looked down towards the ground, “Thank you…It was nothing really…” She said softly. The dark grey alpha tilted his head to the side, “You have exceptional speed and stamina… Actual you’re the first ever wolf to actual keep running by my side.” He complemented her. A slow steady sigh escape Nadie’s lips she held an unsteady gaze towards Dagger, it’s not that she didn’t like the conversation it’s just she’s having a hard time talking to the alpha. Something about him makes her warm and bubbly inside her, and she wasn’t very fond of the strange feelings inside of her. “Willow was keeping up with you during the hunt also…” She pointed out as her eyes lowered towards the ground. “She wasn’t keeping up as well as you were.” He said in a low husky voice that made her white cheeks flushed. Dagger gaze soften when he notice the change in color in her cheeks, a slow smile spread across his lips. “Thank you Dagger…” She said a steady slow smile spread across her lips. “My pleasure…” He smirked causing her cheeks to become a darker red.
Nadie stood up, “If you’ll excuse me…” She quickly walked away her face was just flushed a deep red. The white she wolf quickly made her way to the oak tree, she could already sense the gazes her mother and Dagger had given her as she disperse away so quickly. Nadie laid under a tree her side pressed up against the tree as her back turned against the others. She took a deep breath and sighed releasing the uneasiness in her body. “What is his problem…? Complementing me and being nice to me… What does he not understand that I don’t trust him at all?” She growled loudly, her ears twitched slightly as her tail thumped uneasily against the tree. Nadie snorted as she looked up at the large oak tree, her soft sapphire blue eyes carefully traced the lines and the curves of the tree. She tilted her head to the side as she continue looking at the tracing lines as if this tree had written its own story on its bark from a seedling to large and powerful tree that stands proud and tall today. At least it took her mind and frustration off of Dagger for now.
Castiel finally stopped playing with Nanuk and Kodiak for a bit and took a breathing break. He looked away from them laughing a bit; he turned his golden gaze from them and looked over to see Nadie looking at the tree. He slightly blushed remember nuzzling her before leaving for the hunt for some reason he felt his heart fluttered as he slowly walking towards her. A little bit nervous thinking about what he was going to say to her or make himself not look like a fool in front of the she wolf. His lowered against his head as a soft smile spread across his lips, as he got closer to her. He stood there and clears his throat. This only made her ears perked only turning her head slightly, only one side of her eye looked at him. “H-hi Nadie…” He smiled softly. Holding no expression in her eyes she just looked at him from the side, “Good afternoon Castiel.” She addressed him. The dark grey beta sighed. He wondered why she was so distant and quiet as if she didn’t want to be talk to or she just didn’t like to be around others but whatever it was it made him frown slightly. Nadie stood up and turned around facing the beta lifting an eyebrow at Castiel, “Is something bothering you?” He shook his head, “Ummm no just saying hello that’s all.” He furrowed his eyebrows. The white she wolf just sighed and turned starting to walk away from him. Castiel was about to open his muzzle and say something but he close it shaking his head turning trotting back towards Kodiak and Nanuk.
The white she wolf started heading back towards the woods once again she seem to be more at peace in there then out here at the den site. “Nadie wait!” she stopped immediately her ears twitched at the voice who called her but she didn’t dare look back at who it was. Dagger walked up to her, “Where are you going?” Nadie didn’t look up at him she just furrowed her eyebrows in angered. “Why do you care?” The question just made her body burn wishing she could just yell at him. She sighed “I’m going for a walk.” The white she wolf took a step forward but Dagger jumped in front of her blocking her path, her eyes widen slightly before they stared angrily at the alpha, “What are you doing?” She questions him a low growl slightly followed after the question. This made Dagger eyes glare coldly at her, “You're not going anywhere without telling anyone.” Nadie felt her body boiled in anger as she stared intensely at him, “Who do you think you are? My father!” She snapped at him growling loudly her fangs almost in view. Dagger’s lips curled into a snarl as he took one step towards growling, “No! I am your alpha who is trying to keep his pack mates from harming or killing themselves!” He shouted at her. This made everyone stop what they were doing and look over at them. Nadie growled before running inside the den, everyone watched her run inside the den then they look over at Dagger inspecting answers especially Aiyana. Dagger eyes sadden as his head lowered he sat down against the ground sighing. Willow quickly walked up to his side and pressed her head against his neck, “Whatever my sister said was probably stupid and it shouldn’t get to you.” The golden cream wolf rubbed her head under his chin. Dagger just sighed looking down at the ground.
Aiyana stood up releasing Fang from her, the pup bounded off towards Kodiak and Nanuk hoping that they will play with him. She stood up and walked inside the den. The hazel and gold wolf stopped, she looked over to see her daughter laying there looking at the cave wall. She smiled softly at her and padded up towards her, “I understand it’s hard for you to adjust to this…” Aiyana said sitting down looking down at her daughter. Nadie looked up sniffing softly her eyes were slightly begun to water up almost starting to cry, “I’m sorry mom…” She said sadly looking down at her paws. Aiyana leaned down her muzzle pressed against her daughter’s cheek licking her tears away as they fell on down her cheek. “Don’t be sorry Nadie. You’re not like me and you brother and sister.” The white she wolf looked up at her mother in confusion tilting her head to the side slightly, “What do you mean mum?” She asked. Aiyana chuckled slightly placing her paw on her shoulder, “You seem more cautious not always sure about your surrounding and other people you meet. You can tell if they are trustworthy or not. When it comes to things like that I’m glad to have someone like you around. Cause you know if you weren’t Willow would be leading us in all kind of danger.” They both laughed.
Nadie stopped and looked up at her mother, a warm smile shown across her lips as she looked at her mother feeling better and t peace around her. The white she wolf sat up on her haunches and rubbed her cheek up and down against her mother’s chest, “Thank you mom…” Aiyana smiled and placed her paw on the white she wolf’s back, “You welcome my daughter.” They hold each other’s embrace for a long time before Aiyana broke the hug and looked at her daughter, “I think someone owes Dagger an apology.” Nadie’s eyes widen and her mouth open ready to protest but she quickly closed it when her mother gave one of her signature’s death look. The white wolf sighs her eyes closed as a sweat dropped appeared on her head, “Alright mom…” She chuckled. Aiyana nodded her head and they both stood up, both wolves walked out of the den. Aiyana walked out of the den with her daughter walking slowly behind her. The white she eyes were lowered as her ears laid flat against her head, Nadie felt bad for treating Dagger the way she did before and hope that he can forgive her any kind of way. She felt a small whimper began to form in her throat as she continued walking everyone seems to stop and look over at Nadie. Their eyes carefully and steadily followed her every moment made the young she wolf cower like a young wolf pup afraid of being scowled by its mother. Nadie took a deep breath and released, she felt a bit calmer as she began to gather her thoughts together thinking what was she going to say to Dagger. “Dagger I want to apologize for being so rude… No Dagger sir! No…Excuse me mister Dagger sir…Nooo…” Nadie’s eyebrows furred as she frown thinking about what she was going to say.
The brilliant orb of amber and tangerine sunk lower and lower in the sky until it dipped down into the horizon, painting the sky in magnificent hues of fiery red and crimson. Dagger sat down looking up at the painted fiery red and crimson red sky. His face held a straight yet saddens expression on it, the wind blew gentle across his dark grey pelt. Dagger clenched his eyes shut as his ears dropped against his head, the dark grey alpha averted his gaze from the sky towards the ground a long and sadden sigh escape his lips. The colors faded from maroon to neon pink and majestic purple. An impossibly bright orange colored the world a sparkling gold as the sun descended. Both she wolves stopped and looked at the dark grey alpha, Aiyana looked over at her white furred daughter while the white she wolf looked at her with a worried look. The hazel and golden wolf looked at her daughter and dip her head slightly. Nadie took a deep breath and starting walking towards Dagger.
Dagger’s dark grey ears twitch at the sound of approaching footsteps. He slowly lifted his head and slightly looked behind him, his dark golden pierce eyes widen as he saw Nadie standing behind him.
“Dagger…” The she wolf dipped her head slightly and looked at the alpha. He just dipped his head and turns his head away from the she wolf back to almost setting sun.
Nadie sighed and slowly walked up to his side, she sat down on her haunches her gaze locked on the setting sun. It was quiet the only sounds the two wolves could hear were the soft blowing winds and faint sounds of wildlife all around them.
The sky changed from cornflower blue to a subtle purple, speckled with diamonds and adorned in one large orb of opal. As stygian darkness took over the sky. Sequin-silver stars like the glowing embers of a dying fire winked down at the two wolves. “I wanted to apologize to you…” Nadie said breaking the silence between the two; Dagger’s ears shot up and slowly averted his gaze from the sky to Nadie, he felt his heart race once again not only was he surprise but he felt that warm tingly feeling burn throughout his body once again. “Really…” He said softly. Nadie continued looking forward and a soft chuckled escape her lips as she turned and face Dagger. Her soft sapphire blue eyes stared right into his piercing dark golden ones, a slow soft smile spread across her black lips. “I wanted to apologize the way I acted towards you today…” She said softly, looking away from him. A soft sigh escape her lips as she looked up at the starry night sky, “I shouldn’t acted so cold towards you… I-I hope you can forgive me Dagger.” She said softly her eyes turned from the sky to the dark grey alpha.
A slow forgiven smile spread across his lips as he dips his head slightly. Nadie smiled back as she chuckled slightly. Suddenly the clouds drifted away and revealed a large argent luminous white disc in the sky. Nadie looked up at the sky and a smile of amazement at the beautiful sight. Dagger continued looking at Nadie, he notice the white pale moonlight reflected beautifully down on her white pelt making it glow dimly against its pale light. He felt something burn in his cheeks as he marveled at her beauty, this caused him to knead the grass nervously as he quickly looked away blushing slightly.
She stood up and turned walking away, “Thank you Dagger…” Nadie said softly as she walked back towards the pack. Dagger smiled as he watched her leave, “Your welcome Nadie.” He said soft enough that only he could hear it. Dagger started making his way back to the others, now he felt weird and warm as he began seeing visions of Nadie in his head. This made the dark grey alpha whimpered slightly, his ears pressed against his head as he looked down towards the grass.
A loud and deep howl made Dagger quickly shot up and looked to see it was Nanuk howling. Everyone chuckled and soon began to join in. Willow was laying down with Fang on her back, the hazel she wolf closed her eyes and tilted her back howling with her young pup Fang howling with her. Kodiak and Castiel looked at each other and smiled before they began to howl with the others. Willow couldn’t help but smile at them, couldn’t resist the temptation she too began to howl to the full moon. Nadie was walking up the slanted rock that was near the den, she stop at the tip of it and looked up at the sky. The white she wolf then look back at the pack and smiled. She took a deep breath and tilted her back; she released a deep and strong howl making the pack sound larger than before. Dagger smiled and he too began howling with the others.
It seem the pack seem to be happy at the moment as they continued to howl throughout the night. But within the shadows a pair of glowing yellow eyes looked coldly at the pack. Its teeth were bared as it growled it turned and disappeared off into the darkness of the forest.

Chapter Four: The Sawtooth Pack
The lingering light was obliterated by the rapidly falling night. The once salmon and purple sky transformed into a vast expanse of jet-black that engulfed the forest. A canopy of luminous stars materialized amongst the ocean of blackness. Some were dull, merely flickering into existence every now and then, but there was an adequate amount of shimmering stars to illuminate the dark, moonless night. A dark wolf like shadow ran through the darkness of the forest. Its eyes glow a faint yellow within the darkness of the shadows. The end of its muzzle seems to twitch slightly as the wolf began to pick up a recognizable scent. The wolf made a hard stop, and looked around making sure no one was around. A loud rustling sound made the wolf’s ears shot up in alert as they move around like radars trying to pick up where the noise was coming from. The rustling seems to get louder as it came towards him. The wolf lips curled into a snarl, “Come out and face me! Stop hiding in the shadows like a coward…” The wolf growled a challenge.
A salacious laugh came from bushes made the wolf’s hackles rise as he faces the laughter growling slightly. Coming out of hiding a large black wolf claws fully unsheathe out his paws, he looked at the wolf with a smirk. “Take it easy Storm…it’s only me.” The wolf said with a playful smirk as he walked up to Storm.
The corners of his muzzle slightly curled into a smirk as he recognizes the wolf anywhere, “Unik…” He said softly walking up to him.
Storm was mostly russet and white with a large thick brown stripe covering his back, nose, and tail. The pure white covered his lowered tail, lower rib cage, his chest, lower body, and the insides of his ears, throat, muzzle, and his eyes socket. His upper body and all four paws were russet. His back, top of his head, eyebrows, the bridge of his nose, and the top of his tail were red. His eyes are a bright yellow. Compare to Unik, Storm is almost his size but slightly smaller. He is muscular, swift, agile, and cunning. Storm is Unik’s best friend but they are both really competitive towards each other when given the chance.
Unik lifted an eyebrow chuckling softly, “I’m happy to see you too, friend.” He said walking up to the russet colored wolf. Storm rolled his eyes, shaking his head slightly. “Shouldn’t you be with your mother and father, training or something?”
The black wolf shrugged his shoulders slightly sitting down on his haunches, “Well, they decided to give me a break before I start training again.” He grinned widely showing his large canines.
He shook his head in disbelief, the one thing that Storm knew the most about his best friend Unik was that his parents would never allow him to take a break from training unless it’s a real emergency. “Oh really, are you sure your parents let you take a break, or you just snuck away like usual.” He pointed out. Unik sighed and frowned at his best friend knowing that he was right…as usual. Storm chest puffed out as he smiled in victory, the one thing that he was good at was ratting out Unik’s plans within a second. “Ha! I see the great and powerful Unik is chickening out on some itty bitty training.” The russet wolf mocks him. The black wolf ears folded back against his cranium as his lips curled into a slight snarl, “Shut up Storm!” He said standing up storming off in the direction to the Sawtooth’s pack temporary den.
The russet wolf laughed knowing how to push the right buttons on Unik to make him upset, he smiled and bounded up to the black wolf’s side. Unik continued walking forward frowning not even looking at his best friend. “Aww come on Unik, take a joke. I was only kidding around.” He said slightly hip bumping him.
Unik looked over at Storm, the russet wolf flashed him a toothy smile. The black wolf couldn’t help but chuckle, he could never stay mad at his best friend for a long time. “Alright…I forgive you.” He mumbles slightly. Storm’s ears twitch slightly, “What was that, I couldn’t quite hear you all the way.” Unik chuckled rolling his crimson red eyes, “I said, I forgive you.” Storm flashed a smile towards Unik, the russet wolf knew that he and Unik were the closet of friends within the pack ever since they were just young pups. Storm took one look at Unik before looking ahead once again smiling to himself.
Unik didn’t notice the smile his friend gave him; he was too lost in his thoughts about the punishment his parents will give him. The thought of his parents giving a good scolding or worse his father and mother could inflict a serious wound on him for leaving during training. He felt his heart drop all the way to his stomach as his body slightly began to tremble in fear at the thought. Storm looked back over Unik, the russet wolf eyes widen at the sight of his friend. Unik looked like he had seen a ghost or something, “Unik is everything alright?” Storm asked a hint of worry was sounding in his voice. Unik broke out of his thoughts as he turned his crimson red eyes towards his friend. The black wolf couldn’t talked about his training and how brutal his parents are towards him, he was afraid if Storm really found how his training really goes the russet wolf would crazy mad like a rabid wolf and get himself in a world of trouble. “Uh, yeah. Everything is fine.”
Storm knitted his eyebrows together, and frown in disbelief at the lie Unik told him. “You know you are a horrible liar!” The russet wolf shook his head as continue to glare at Unik. The black wolf crimson red eyes harden as he glares at Storm, a low and audible growl began to rise in his throat, “I said everything is fine!” He growled making sure that his statement was clear towards the russet wolf. Storm snorted slightly, “Whatever you say…” He grumbles slightly.
It was silent and tension between the two as they continue to walk towards the den. Unik lowered his gaze towards the ground; his eyes sadden as he sighs to himself. He felt bad for growled at Storm like that, it wasn’t his fault that he just trying to help. He lifted his gaze from the ground and face Storm, “Storm.” The russet wolf replied with a soft ‘Hm.’ “I wanted to say I’m sorry for growling at you like that…” The russet wolf looked over at Unik, a slow smile tug at the corners of his mouth, “It’s alright I forgive you.” They both smiled at each other chuckling for a brief moment.
They made a sudden stop as their ears stood pricking at the noise, a deep and loud howl seem to have echo into the forest. Unik’s and Storm’s eyes widen knowing what it meant; they both nodded and took off into a sprint heading towards the direction of the den.
A rich brown slightly thin wolf was pacing back and forth at the entrance of their territory, growling in frustration. “Where is that little brat?” He growled under his breath as he continues on pacing. A black she wolf sat there watching him for a few minutes, she was getting annoyed with wolf’s pacing getting dizzy just watching him. The silky black she wolf stood up and padded towards him, “Now calm down Sawtooth, I'm sure he is somewhere in the forest.” She said reassuringly, rubbing her cheek gently up and down against his. Sawtooth growled slightly brushing away from her touch turning his back on her, he walked a couple steps to keep his distance away from her, “When he gets back, I’ll teach him a lesson he’ll never forget about sneaking away from training…” The rich brown sat down, his hackles rose in frustration and in anger. This wasn’t the first time Unik has snuck away from training, actual it’s been couple times where Unik would sneak off. It was frustrating to know that next bloodline to take over the pack was his pathetic excuse of his son Unik, always running off, wasting time playing and acting like an idiot around his friends. After the night Sawtooth would make sure that he would break that side of Unik, he’ll make sure he would train him into a force to reckon with. A malicious blood thirsty smiled spread across his lips as he began chuckling quietly to himself at the thought. ‘He’ll be the son that I always wanted!’ He thought wickedly to himself.
While he was thinking of plans for the future, Sawtooth was oblivious that his mate Raven was watching him worriedly. Ever since Unik was born Sawtooth has been distant from her, only spending more time with her son then herself. The black she wolf was slightly envious of her little Unik getting all the attention from her mate, but she couldn’t stay mad at her son he’s just a pup and doesn’t know any better. But there would be times when she’d ignore him or growl at him scaring him off. Raven walked up to her mate clearing her throat, “Sawtooth?” The rich brown wolf broke from his thoughts and looked up at his mate in acknowledgement. “What are you thinking in that wickedly devilish mind of yours?” She smirk lifting one eyebrow. Sawtooth smiled pressing his cheek against hers, “Nothing out of the ordinary my dear.” He gently licked her scared muzzle. Raven felt her eyes fluttered at the action, her head all the way down to her spine shudder in pure pleasure feeling his tongue across the sensitive part of her muzzle.
She watches as her mate began to pad back towards the den, Raven smirked as she stalked briskly up towards her mate. “If it’s out of the ordinary dear,” Her hip slowly brushed against his, this stopped the rich brown wolf in his tracks eyeing his mate. Raven walked past her mate, her piercing yellow held lust and desire in them, the desire to make her mate tell her the plans no matter what she’ll get her way. Her black tail slid slowly under his chin, her eyes never left his as she slowly walked to his side. Sawtooth lifted an eyebrow confused and sort of enchanted by his mate charms leaving him off guard, taking this opportunity Raven gently pressed both her paws on his side. Sawtooth eyebrows knitted together in confusion, “Raven what are you doi-oof!” The rich brown wolf was pinned on his side; he looked up to see his mate giving him a victory smile.
Sawtooth awkwardly rolled onto his back with Raven still pinning him to the ground. He smirked, impress by her persuasion tactics it almost made him want purr like a cat. Raven lean closer to him, her lips moving slowly and tauntingly against his hear, “If it’s out of the ordinary dear, then why won’t you tell me.” Her voice had a semi seductive yet pleading whimper this made Sawtooth shudder with pleasure as his tail began thumping excitedly with pleasure. The rich brown wolf presses his paw against her chin lifting it tilting it down slightly until their eyes locked in together. It happen so fast not even Raven had enough time exhale her breath but she found herself on the bottom of her mate looking up in disbelief. Sawtooth smirked, “Don’t worry dear I’ll tell you later, right after…Our little fun tonight.” His tail slowly caresses her inner thigh. This made the black she wolf spread her hindlegs a bit further as she moaned softly her black cheeks turned a soft a pink. Sawtooth chuckled at her reaction as he walked out off of her allowing Raven to stand up. Raven walk toward her mate with a soft smile on her lips, they did a brief nuzzle and quickly pulled away at the sound of panting and running.
Unik and Storm made a hard stop when they notice Sawtooth and Raven standing at the entrance of the territory. Storm walked up to the alphas in a submissive matter with his tail tuck between his legs and his ears pushed back against his skull, Unik repeated the same action as he approach his parents. Raven just stared blankly at her son while Sawtooth’s shoulder hackles rise, his black lips curled into a snarl as he bore all of his fangs towards the two a loud threatening growl began to rumble loudly in his throat. Unik began trembling in fear at the sight of his father; he gulped loudly as he felt his mouth began to dry as heart began to pound briskly out of his chest. The rich brown wolf took one step towards the two still growling at them both, “Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t rip both your throats out right now!” He snapped his jaws viciously at the two. Unik eyes widen in fear while Storm yelped slightly, both of them were in trouble now this time there was no way out of this one.
Sawtooth knitted his eyebrows together, he was becoming impatient with the two and he lashed out biting Unik on the scruff. The black wolf yelped in surprise as he was slam onto the ground, his crimson red eyes slowly looked not daring to look in the killer blood red eyes of his father, the brown wolf growled as he looked over at Storm who was surprise and afraid of the action. “I-I have news, s-sir.” Storm began to tremble slightly when Sawtooth was glaring at him now. The russet wolf gulped nervously as he gritted his teeth slightly, “U-um, t-there seems to b-be uhhh.” Storm’s yellow eyes widen in fear, he opens his mouth to continue but he had no words at the moment because of the fear he was in.
The rich brown wolf growled in frustration, “You ignorant fool; I don’t have all damn night! Tell me now or else!” He snapped his jaws viciously at Storm baring his fangs. The russet wolf yelp nodding his head quickly, “Its Dagger sir! I-it seems that his pack has gotten l-larger.”
Sawtooth calmed down for a second as he took in the news quietly, his eyes closed tilting the crest of his neck upwards taking a deep breath then exhaling settling down for a moment. “I see,” He said with his eyes remaining close, “You may leave now.” Storm dipped his head before turning running off to the others, the russet wolf felt glad to be out of there but he couldn’t but feel bad for his best friend Unik, he sighed to himself, ‘I better tell Akira about this…’ He thought to himself.
The black wolf wince slightly as he slowly stood up on all fours, he opened one crimson red eye as he looked up at his father who had disappointment and anger plastered across his face. Sawtooth looked at his son his lips curled into a snarl he lashed out his jaws biting down fiercely on the side of his neck, with amazing strength he lifted the black wolf before slamming him back down on the ground like he did previously. Unik yelp as he landed on his side with a hard thud, he began whimpering as he felt his father’s sharp fangs embedded inside his fur the tips of his fangs just barely piercing through the his skin. “If you ever skip out on your training again,” He lets go of the side of his neck, and he began growling in his ear, “It will be your last…” Sawtooth turned and began padding back towards his den leaving Raven and Unik behind.
Raven sighed shaking her head after watching her mate discipline their son, she padded over to Unik a hint of concern and motherly love was seen in her yellow piercing eyes. The black she wolf craned her neck and began to gently lick his wounds that his father had given him. “Are you alright my son?” She said softly as she began to help him up. Unik sighed looking over at her nodding slightly. “Thank you mother…” He said softly nuzzling her chest, Raven just chuckled as she rubbed her cheek gently across the back of his neck, “Don’t worry Unik, it’s going to be alright.” The black she wolf reassured her son as they continue nuzzling.
Unik smiled softly as he remain pressing his face against his mother’s chest, hearing and feeling her soft breathing made him feel better knowing that his mother would always be there for him cheered him up. “I know everything is going to be alright, as long as you’re here mum.” He said looking up at her with a warm smile. Raven chuckled softly looking down at him with half closed eyes as a warm smile spread across her face, “I love you Unik, you silly pup.” They both chuckled slightly, “I love you too, mother.”
Chapter Five: A Friend in Need
Akira is a silver colored female with a soft grey colored undercoat. Her face is fully silver except for her lower jaw all the way down to the center of her chest which is all white. All of her legs are coated with the color dark grey, as her the underside of her tail matches in the same color as her legs. Her stomach is a lighter shade of silver, her upper and lower eye lids match in the same color as her stomach. She has two triangles like eyebrows that are also a shade of white. Akira’s eyes are a soft shade of green. Akira has fitting physique of a well-trained hunter and top fighter within the Sawtooth Pack. Compare to Storm and Unik she is almost about the same size as her friend Storm but shorter than Unik. Akira has kind and sweet nature, treated as a much respected wolf of the pack because of her wise and charming nature; she can sometimes be a big flirt around the males especially when she is around Unik because of her large crush on the black male.
Twilight melted away, majestic sunrise, red orange glow seeping over the horizon as if the light itself was being poured from a molten sun. Powerful rays flood over the landscape lighting every blade of grass, shining from each leaf. Unik opened his crimson red eyes after replaying the events that happen last night. He gazed blankly out in the distance, watching the landscape slowly burst into life. A gentle cool breeze blew against his thick black pelt, his fur swaying gently in the direction of the wind. He sighed as his crimson red eyes began to dull, a sad expression soon fallen upon his face. “What will it take for you to accept me, father?” He asked to himself, his lips quivered slightly. Unik wasn’t really a person to cry over many things, or display his true emotions sometimes but he was alone, from the inside out. His eyes began to water slightly, as he continue to watch the sunrise, a single tear slowly slid down his cheek as he hung his head low.
A quick shake of his head made him stop feeling like a weakling, he lifted his head and knitted his eyebrows together, “There’s no use into shedding a tear,” The black wolf stood up and turned away from the sunrise turning in the direction of where his pack, “My dad doesn’t like weaklings…” He mumbles as he walked back to his pack. His steps were heavy and slow, he wasn’t in need of a rush to get back to his pack. His crimson eyes were focus on the ground observing his paws each time he would walk. He felt something slightly burn on the side of his neck, the wolf growl at the painfully burning sensation on his neck. He could still fill his father’s sharp fangs almost pierce through his skin and end his life quickly. “I wonder why he didn’t put an end to me right then and there.” He thought angrily as he continues walking.
As Unik began to slowly zone out from reality and disappear into his thoughts, he failed to realize there was a pair of green eyes staring out from the thick cover of foliage observing him closely. The green eyes quickly dispersed into the foliage, whatever was following Unik stayed right by his side.
Rustling noises came from a nearby tree, the loud rustling from the trees seemed to break Unik from his thoughts and growl irritably at the loud rustling. “Damn squirrels, can’t they play with their nuts somewhere else?!” He growled as he tilted his head upwards gazing at the high branches of the trees. His crimson red eyes squinted as he looked around; he took note that there weren’t any of the annoying tree climbing rodents around. The black wolf snorted as he thought they may have gone to another tree. Unik snorted lowering his head; he took another step forward before a silver streak ran straight past him. “What in god’s name is going here?” He barked out in confusion. He looked from the direction where the streak came from and where it left. “I must be seeing things…” He said before he now quickly trotted back to his pack. Hopefully whatever he saw he could sleep it off.
Unik moved a rapid trot, darting his eyes left and right trying to see if that silver thing he saw was coming back. His ears perked at the sound of rustling, but the rustling was coming from behind him a fast pace. The wolf snarled and quickly whipped around as he heard the rustling grow louder behind him. Unik snarled as he saw nothing was behind him, he was becoming very irritated. He stood there for a few more seconds, his ears moving left and right; his optics stared intensely out in the distance. A low growl rumble in his throat, whoever is messing with him this morning was going to regret it when he found whoever it was. A long irritable puff of air escapes his nostrils as he turned around and walked off again.
He felt something heavy pressed against his chest as he was being pushed backwards onto his back. The black wolf landed on the ground with a soft thud, his red eyes were clenched closed trying to figure out what just happen. Unik clenched his teeth as he felt something press down heavy on his chest preventing him from moving. He opens his red eyes only to meet a pair of green eyes that had a play glint in them. Still trying to comprehend what happen, whoever on top released a feminine giggle at the pinned wolf. Unik’s jaws dropped and his eyes widen as he recognized that giggle anywhere, “Akira…” He said softly gazing up at the she wolf in disbelief.
The she wolf laughed again as she walked off the wolf, her long and thick silvery tail sliding against his cheek in a flirtatious matter as she walked off him. “Who else would be able to pin you down so easily?” She said in teasing voice.
He huffed at her statement as he stood up, “You pin me down easily? Ha! Don’t make me laugh.” The black wolf said giving her a cocky grin. Unik strutted towards her with his chest out, “You only caught me off guard.” The black wolf said softly against her ear. Akira lifted one eye brow, “Oh really?” Her voice had a hint of a challenge in it as she walked past him, the silver she wolf’s tail brushed under his chin as she walked on the other side of him. Unik’s red eyes never left the beautiful silver wolf, he followed her every movements, studying her closely… He slowly began to lose himself within her green gaze, her eyes had a slight shine to them as he gazed deeper into them.
Akira could sense him letting his guard down, with a swift and graceful movement the she wolf tackled him down on the ground once again. Unik shook his head and gazed wide eyed up at the she wolf, he was shock that this was the only wolf that could pin him down, but then he realize this was just play and nothing serious to stress about.
“Surprise?” Akira chuckled breaking Unik from his thoughts.
The black wolf frowned at the she wolf, “Get off!” He slightly growled as he pushed her off him. Akira shook her head as she watched Unik get up and storm past her, the silver she wolf sighed and quickly caught up to his side. Akira playfully hip bump Unik, “Aw come on Unik, don’t be such a stick in the mud.” She laughed, as she notices Unik’s mood began to lighten up. “Whatever…” He rolled his eyes smiling softly at the silver wolf.
“I heard what happen last night…” Akira said looking down.
She could feel the atmosphere change when Unik stopped. He remained frozen in his spot; his head slightly hanging lowly as a low and uneasy sigh escape his maw. Akira’s ears pressed against her head as she gazes worriedly at him. Akira felt her stomach drop after just blurting that out, the she wolf slowly walked up to his side. “U-Unik, I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said…” He presses his head against hers nuzzling her gently cutting her off. The silver she wolf eyes widen, as she felt her heart racing feeling the black wolf’s warm fur brushing against hers. Her cheeks turned a soft pink as she began to nuzzle him back. “It’s okay Akira, you didn’t mean it…” He said softly as he rubbed his muzzle under her chin.
They continued embracing and nuzzling each other, enjoying each other’s warmth and fur against each other. Unik broke away from Akira smiling at her with a warm smile as his red eyes gazed softly into her green ones, “Akira…I’m glad I have a great friend like you.” The black male said with a slight chuckled.
Akira felt her heart dropped into the pit of her stomach when Unik called her a friend, her green eyes lowered slightly as she slightly turn her head away from him, “I’m glad you feel that way Unik…” She said sadly not even daring to look him in the eye. Unik cocked his head to the side, “Akira what’s wrong?” His voice was full of concern as he looked at her warily. Akira sighed shaking her head, “Don’t worry about Unik,” She turned away from him taking a few steps away from him, “You wouldn’t understand…” Unik eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he walked towards her, “Understand what, Akira?” He asked.
“How I fee-“
“Unik! Akira!” A voice called in the distance cutting off Akira.
It was Storm running towards them.
Unik and Akira trotted up to the russet wolf to meet him half way.
Storm stood in front of them panting, “I hope I didn’t interrupt anything.” The russet wolf said with a smile.
“No you didn’t.” Unik said making Akira look at him with a frown and elbow him on the side. Unik slightly jumped at the feeling of something sharp pressing roughly against him, he quickly looked over Akira with a frown. Both wolves stared each other down with intense and fierce glares. Storm glanced at both of them with a confused look, “Um, are you guys okay?” He asked with a in his head.
Unik snorted before looking back Storm, “Yes we are, is there something going on Storm?”
The russet wolf nodded his head, “Yes your father wanted to speak with all three of us.”
The black and silver wolf looked at each other with shock expressions before looking back at Storm, “Do you know what for Storm?” Akira asked.
Storm shook his head, “No, but we better get there as soon as possible.”
“Lead the way then Storm.” Unik said.
The russet wolf nodded his head and ran off with Unik and Akira following closely behind him. Questions filled Unik’s head, his eyebrows knitted together as he thought. “What did his father wanted to talk about? Why is Akira acting weird all of the sudden?”
Chapter Six: The Plan
The three wolves jogged towards the territory of their home. They hastily made it to Sawtooth’s den and instantly moved inside the cave like den in an uneasy staggering pace. Unik’s red eyes examine the dim den until he notices his parents sitting in the center of the den where only faint light was shown on the two wolves.
“Come in…” Sawtooth’s menacing voice echoed through the cave.
Unik padded towards his parents while Akira and Storm stayed closed behind him trailing anxiously with each step. Raven and Sawtooth stood up as the three wolves stood in front of them. “So I see you finally showed up on time for once.” The rich brown wolf spoke with a spiteful tone that made Unik slightly shrink back from him. Sawtooth scowl slightly at his son and walked pass the three wolves with his mate following closely behind him. Unik looked over at Akira and Storm; they both looked in bewilderment and began to follow their leader with Unik in front of them.
Sawtooth led them out the den and towards the forest that led out of the territory. “I guess you’re all wondering why I called you here.” He stopped and turned around facing the younger wolves who all nodded.
“Do you remember the Moonstone pack?” He asked.
They all nodded, Sawtooth grinned wickedly, “Good, so you all know why their numbers really depleted. Correct?”
Storm’s eyes widen, while Unik and Akira gulped audible, they could never forget the real reason of the almost end of The Moonstone Pack. It was the story pass on for generations and generations, in the almost victory between the rivalry between the two feuding packs. They nodded their heads slowly staring anxiously at the brown wolf. Sawtooth’s blood red eyes sparked with malicious as a low wicked chuckled rumble in his chest. “Now the reason why you’re here,” He began. “Recently I heard that there are new females and a pup in the pack?” He looked over at Storm. The russet brown wolf nodded his head, “Yes sir…”
“Hmm…” Sawtooth began to ponder for a second, “With new females in the pack, and with winter coming up…” He looked back over at Storm, “How many females joined the pack?” He asked. “Three sir…” Sawtooth’s eyes widen, “By spring the pack would increase greatly.”
Raven walked up to Sawtooth’s side, “But dear that still won’t be enough to take down our pack of twenty, they are too small and weak to take us on, even if they have a litter or two.”
The brown wolf looked over at his mate and sighed, “That doesn’t matter,” He looked over at the three wolves that was standing there in uncertainty, unsure what was really going on. Sawtooth’s red blood eyes stared sinfully into crimson red ones of his son. A slow malevolent smirked curved at his black lips as a plan formulated in his wicked mind. Sawtooth walked over to Unik with a smile that made the young black wolf shrink back slightly in fear.
“Unik my son,” He said with a proud tone in his voice. “I have trained you very well over the past few years and now it is time for you to show me how well you have been trained.” Unik felt a surge of pride flow through his body as he heard his father for the first time compliments him in years. The black wolf nodded with a determine glint his eyes. Sawtooth chuckled lightly, “Good now I want you and your friends here to execute these plans perfectly…With no mistake!” He snarled making sure his message was getting clear through all their heads.
All three wolves briefly nodded, “I want you to go and join the Moonstone Pack. I need you to get as close and as friendly as possible to the pack members, you will stay with them and take in as much information as possible. Once I think you are ready, I will send a patrol to come get you and you will tell me all that you have learn about the new pack members. Is that understood?”
“Yes sir!”
“Good,” He chuckled maliciously. “You will leave by the afternoon tomorrow while their patrol is out and about, now you may go…” Unik, Akira, and Storm nodded before turning walking off leaving Sawtooth and Raven alone.
Raven padded up to Sawtooth and gently nuzzled, “That was an exceptional plan my dear.” The black she wolf chuckled as she gently licked him on the muzzle. Sawtooth sighed and moved away from his mate, “It will be, and if that pup screws it up he’ll be sorry…” He growled softly as he looked in the direction to where his son left. “He will be…”
Chapter Seven: Executing the Plan
Nadie trotted through skeletal trees, their branches so bare that she could have counted the leaves on each and every one she passed by. The trees were skirted by pools of autumn gold and rust colored leaves. When the wind blew the pools animated. Leaves took to the air in an elegant dance, pirouetting around the tree trunks to their own orchestral rustling. When the wind calmed, the dance ended and the leaves landed to form new pools that looked identical to the ones they were in before they started to frolic.
Nadie stared in awe at the beauty in front of her as took in autumn’s sweet breath chills. Her sapphire eyes looked in fascination as she watched the amethyst blooms fade under shafts of faltering light, hindered by soft-spun cloud. The lingering sun kisses outstretched wings, bound for warmer shores, whilst berries harken to those that stay, a gift of red, replacing summer petals that curled delicately into the sable earth.
The white she wolf walked alone through the territory of her home. She chuckled at the thought. The white she wolf never thought she would be calling this her home but for some odd reason it made her warm inside. Nadie never thought she would be able to accept Moonstone Pack and their members, especially Dagger. Her cheeks heated up at the thought of the muscular grey alpha. The way he would smile and talk to her, the way he made her all bubbly and stomach tied every time he was around. Then her mind slowly drifted away from Dagger to the others. The white had to admit, she came to actual enjoy being around the perverted Kodiak and the sweet Nanuk, most of all she enjoyed being her new and amazing best friend Castiel.
Her thoughts were interrupted as something black flash passed her eyes. The white wolf stopped and whipped around to see where the black thing she saw, her neck fur bristle in nervousness as she darted her gaze back and forth. Her jet black nose twitch at the smell of something unfamiliar, it wasn’t any of her pack’s scent but this one made her hackles rise in fury as her black lips curled into a slight snarl. Nadie’s soft sapphire blue eyes turned into an icy glare as she heard footsteps running towards her. Her ears twitch slightly as the sound of one running now to three.
She turned around to see a black wolf with red demonic like eyes running right towards her. The wolf’s jaws unhinges as he released a snarl like bark as he charge right towards her. Nadie waited as the wolf came closer, she stopped growling and gazed icily at the strange black wolf. Should she fight or should she run? By the looks of the stranger Nadie could possible out maneuvered him and land a few good blows, but the wolf looked strong, just by the way his muscles were shown through his black pelt he looked like a fierce fighter.
The wolf was close enough and he lunged for the white wolf, his jaws opened wide showing his large flesh tearing fangs. Nadie snarled and quickly just narrowly dodged his attack and quickly bolted in the direction to where the den was with black wolf following closely behind her. Nadie made a quick yet tight turn around a tree and ran in another direction hoping to throw the wolf off her trail. She turned her neck around to see the wolf still chasing after her. ‘I won’t be able to make it back to the den. I can probably out run him’ Nadie growled as jumped over a fallen tree and made another tight turn, she zips and turns through the trees. She jumped upon the rock and side way jump from another tree and dashed towards an opening within the territory.
Nadie stopped, panting and looking around. Her soft sapphire blue eyes darted everywhere along the forest in anxiety hoping that she lost the dangerous wolf. Just as turned around something heavy knocked her over on her back, with great reflexes her hind paws pressed up against her attacker’s stomach and she flipped him over onto his back. This time she had the upper hand. The she wolf pressed both her paws on the black wolf’s neck; she pushed her weight forward on his neck and snarled viciously at her attacker.
“Who are you and what are you doing on Moonstone Pack territory!” She snarled showing all of her white lethal fangs to the black wolf.
He slightly squirmed trying to break free from her gasp but to no avail he couldn’t escape, with a sigh of defeat he stopped his useless struggling and looked up at the white wolf. His crimson red eyes widen as he stared into her soft sapphire blue ones, he was captivated by the beauty that hold within them and he felt his heart as he gaze further into them. “I-I’m sorry I-I didn’t mean to intrude…” He said breathlessly.
Nadie’s icy glare soften a bit as she gazed down at the masculine black wolf for a second, she notice that his red blood eyes were more of a crimson red. The white wolf couldn’t stop herself from looking at him. Her once tense body seems to calm down a little as she further continued studying the stranger beneath her.
“If you’re going to continue staring at me like that, I have a few things we can do to pass time.” He said with a smirked as he sent her a flirty wink.
Her sapphire blue eyes widen as her cheeks flushed with embarrassment, Nadie frowned and resume growling at the pinned stranger. “You haven’t answered my question…” She snarled. Her neck fur bristle once again, she felt mortified after the black wolf caught her off guard hopefully she could covered it up with questioning once again.
“Okay I’ll tell you as soon as you get off me…”
Nadie’s paws pressed harder down on his muscular neck, “And if I get off of you, you’ll probably attack me.” She sneered.
He sighed and looked deep into her eyes, “I promise I won’t attack you if you get of me…”
The white wolf’s growling seem to cease a little, her neck fur was still bristle with cautious as she slowly stepped off the wolf. Her ears were pushed forward and her tail slightly raised a stance she gladly picked up from her mother. Uncertainty fill her sapphire blue gaze, this wolf could kill her within a second before she could even scream for help. But something seems to make her feel like she should trust the black stranger.
The black wolf grunted as he rolled onto his paws and stood up, a sigh of relief escapes his throat, finally he could breathe normally again. His red eyes stared in astonishment as he looked over at the white she wolf, never had he encounter someone that strong before let alone allow to be pinned so easily. He took one cautious step towards her, but he stopped when he saw her threatening body reaction. A slight smirk tugged at the corners of his black lips, he was impress that she didn’t cower down like other wolves when he was in their presence.
“There’s no need to be threaten by my presence, I just want to talk.”
Unbeknownst to the black wolf, Nadie had ceased to relax but she kept her guard up just in case the stranger may attack her again. “Fine…” She said as her fur seems to lie down slowly against her neck and hackles.
“I- I mean we were in…”
“WE!” Nadie barked in shock as she heard the black wolf mention more stranger wolves within the territory.
Her sapphire blue eyes widen nervousness as she saw two other wolf figures appear next to the black wolf. “H-How is that p-possible? I couldn’t even smell them approaching!” Next to the black wolf were a slivery grey female and a russet male. Nadie gulped nervously as she felt outnumber and fearful. She feared that they may attack her within a second ripping her to shreds with no problem.
He could sense her uneasiness and looked over at the two wolves next to him; with a slight nod he decided come in at a different approach. “Don’t worry we’re not here to hurt you…”
A snapped of a twig broke the conversation between the wolves and they all jerked their heads towards the sound.
“If you’re not here to hurt one of my pack members, than why are you here on my territory…?” A deep and imitating voice made the three strangers slightly cringe at the sound.
Dagger was the first appear with in the scene along with Castiel and Kodiak on his side. Kodiak and Castiel bared their fangs at the strangers as they broke away from Dagger and began circling the strangers. From behind the strangers were Willow and Nanuk who also began to circle the threat. Dagger stood tall, his broad chest poked out and his tail swishing in a dangerous manner. His lips twitched slowly as he began baring his lethal fangs at the strangers. Dagger’s eyebrows furrowed in irritation as his golden eyes continued glaring icily at the three strangers.
The leader of the Moonstone Pack didn’t appreciate someone trespassing on his territory. His eyes landed on the black stranger, they widen as he saw the red color they had. He realized that these weren’t ordinary strangers. His anger began to boil he knew those eyes from one wolf, only one wolf could have the same color eyes just like the wolf standing in front of him.
“Why are you here…Son of Sawtooth?” He growled.
The three wolves’ eyes widen in shock, how could he have known that he was the son of Sawtooth.
“I won’t ask you again!” Dagger snapped viciously at the three.
He stepped up from the group gulping nervously, “I-I’m Unik and you a-are correct, I am the s-son of Sawtooth…” Dagger stood there, he used all of his will power not to lashed out at Unik and break his neck where he stood. His ears twitched with rage as he continues listening to the black wolf explain himself.
“My friends and I were seeking refuge from the abusive leadership from my corrupted father. I was hoping that we can-“
“Join my pack to escape…do you think I will be foolish enough to allow the offspring of a murderous backstabber to join my pack!”
Unik’s eyebrows furrowed together in anger, his lips curled into a snarl as his fur bristle in anger. “I maybe the son of a killer, but why take your anger out on me instead of him. Judge me now for who I am,” His head lowered as he growling seem to cease, “Or for the crimes I did not commit…” His red eyes flashed in victory as he got Dagger right where he wanted him.
All the Moonstone Pack stopped including Dagger, the black wolf did have a point. But Dagger wasn’t willingly allowing any wolves from Sawtooth to join his pack. He didn’t want of their blood and ways to taint the ones of his own. He growled in frustration as he jerked his head and began to pace back and forth.
Castiel slowly and cautiously walked up to his brother, his dark golden eyes stared warily at his brother. “Dagger,” He said harshly making his older brother stopped and glares at him.
The dark grey beta was taken a back a little by his brother intense glare, but he brushed off his fear and made his own threatening glare towards him. “I understand you don’t like the thought of them joining pack, but instead of them joining the pack we can take them in as omegas…” Dagger looked from his brother over to the Sawtooth pack wolves, a low uneasy growl rumble in his throat. He stopped and looked back over at Castiel. His brother had a point, until he could fully trust them if that’s ever going to happen and allow them to full fledge members of the pack, and also keep a close eye on them.
He calmed down just a bit and turned around facing the three wolves, “My brother and I came to a conclusion,” His dark golden orbs closed and sighed. “That I will allow you to join my pack.” A spark of relief glinted in Unik’s crimson red eyes, as a wash of relief spread through his body.
“But you will be accepted as omegas…” All three wolves gasped in shock as their eyes stared in disbelief. Accepted as omegas, they came from top hunters and fighters to nothing but weak and lowlife submissive omegas. Unik frowned as he accepted his rank along with his comrades.
“You two!” Dagger now turned his direction to the silver female and the russet male. They reluctantly looked at the dark grey alpha.
“State your names."
“I am Akira.”
“And I am Storm.”
Dagger’s lips curled up slightly as his tail rose in dominance, “Welcome to the Moonstone Pack…omegas.”
He glared at them with his icy cold golden eyes before turning around walking off. Willow quickly trotted up to his side and looked back at the new members with a devilish smirk before turning away looking forward. Nadie and Castiel walked side by side while Storm, Akira, and Unik walked behind them. Kodiak and Nanuk walked closely behind them keeping a close eye on them. Unik looked over at Akira and Storm with a smirk as phase one of the plan was complete.
Chapter Eight: Unwelcomed Members
The pack with the addition of three new omegas arrived at the den in the evening. There was tension in the air as the Moonstone Pack began to adjust to their new pack members. Everything seems to calm down a little as they approach the den. Aiyana and Fang approach the pack happily until the older she wolf stopped, her eyes widen as she notices three new comers approaching them. She quickly lowers her neck and begins to nose Fang towards another direction, “Mum! What are you doing?” He question as he tried to see what was going on. The hazel colored wolf slightly rolled her soft emerald green eyes as she turned and walk towards the rocky den with the nosy pup walking next to her pouting. Aiyana could help but chuckle slightly Fang had grown up a bit more than he was during the summer and spring season, the pup was now in between the age of an adolescent and a teenage yearling. The pup was now touching height of her foreleg…they grow up so fast
.
As the others began to disperse from another to other places around the den; Dagger and Castiel stood next to each other staring at the three former members of the Sawtooth pack with cautious stares. A low and cautious growl rumble deep within Dagger’s chest as his dark golden eyes landed on the black wolf. Castiel looked over at his brother with a worried glance, “Dagger?” He question the way his brother was acting.
Something about that black wolf made Dagger’s fur bristle in not only fear but in rage. Was it because he was from Sawtooth pack? Or was it the fact that when he looked into those red eyes…he could see the same murderous outsider inside them. For now Dagger had to keep a close eye on the three new appointed omegas. With a sigh, he looked over at Castiel who seem to gaze at him warily. “Oh sorry about that Casty…” He tried to smooth his way out of a conversation with his younger brother.
The beta rolled his eyes; he really wasn’t going to fall for his older brother antics… Not this time that is. With a growl like whine he gave the larger dark grey alpha a reassuring nuzzle across the cheek with his muzzle. Dagger’s eyes widen at the sudden affection his brother was giving him, but never the less he needed his support at the moment. A little reluctant at first, he nuzzled him back slightly. This side of both brothers rarely happen between them both since they both had a since of pride about themselves. But seeing them nuzzling one another in a brotherly fashion was a rare and tender moment between them.
Dagger broke away from Castiel and smiled slightly, he seem to calm down again but still had a worried feeling about the three newcomers. His warm smile turned back into a serious face, something Castiel was a little upset about but he didn’t show it towards Dagger. “I need you and Nanuk to keep a close eye on them for the time being.” He told the light grey wolf. With a nod, Castiel turned away from Dagger and padded to look for Nanuk.
‘I’m lucky to have a brother like you Casty.’ The dark grey leader thought thankfully to himself as he watched him walk away.
His dark golden eyes shifted away from his brother over towards smell of a familiar wolf. He felt his body warming up again as his golden orbs landed on the white wolf Nadie. Ever since the first day he saw the beautiful white she wolf, he slowly became smitten to her. Dagger adores her strength to protect others and the wisdom she possesses to guide the ones she cares about on the right path. She stuck out like a white rose in a patch of weeds. Maybe…He thought…maybe he can find some time with her alone.
As he took a step forward in her direction he was stop by another voice that made him feel warm inside.
“Dagger…”
He turned his muscular neck towards the voice only for his black nose to press up against the one of Willow’s. His golden eyes held a warm welcoming to them as he stared into a pair of emerald green ones. With a welcoming wag of his tail, he smiled warmly towards the creamy golden coated female. “Hello there Willow.” Dagger turned his body fully around to face her, only for him to welcome by tender and affectionate nuzzling from the she wolf. As eager as she nuzzled him, Dagger return the gesture with a brief nuzzle across her cheek with his muzzle. This made Willow giggle slightly, the sound of her laugh made his heart melt. The way he felt about Nadie was just the feelings he felt Willow himself.
“I was wondering,” The she wolf broke away from him and looked up into his golden eyes, they held an voluptuous gaze that made Dagger’s body heat up in pleasure, “If you and I can go on a little patrol together.” Her tone of voice had a soft yet sensual tone that made Dagger’s body shudder in excitement.
Slowly he felt his gaze move from the creamy golden she wolf over towards Nadie, he notice her sitting somewhat far away from the pack as usual but he noticed that she was gazing at something that had caught her attention. He followed her gaze only to land on Unik, who seem to stare right back at her with same curiosity she had. This made his blood boil and his anger rise, the thought of another male staring at Nadie, let alone a male from the enemy made him want to run over there and rip his eyes from his socket. The vulgar thought made him chuckle sinfully in his thoughts.
“Is everything okay Dagger?” The sound of Willow’s voice broke him out of his trance.
He blinked, “Oh I’m sorry, maybe some other time…”
A look of shock was seen in her eyes but she scowled at the grey male, “And why not?” She barked like a pup that didn’t take no for an answer.
He walked forward, “Just some other time, I have business to attend to.” The dark grey wolf brushed passed her and made his way towards Nadie. A rush of relief rushes through his body as he avoided an irrelevant argument with Willow.
The three omegas lay down near the den watching the other wolves interact with one another just like any ordinary pack would. While Storm and Akira were conversing among themselves, Unik was just lying there staring them drifting slowly off into his mind.
“Do you think I will be foolish enough to allow the offspring of a murderous backstabber to join my pack?”
“Welcome to the Moonstone Pack…omegas.”
It hit him hard like a hunter’s bullet or even worse the feeling of his father teeth pressing down on his neck. The words that Dagger had spoken down on him made his neck fur bristle with anger. He never thought…the son of Sawtooth, top hunter and elite fighter had to be reduce to a weak low rank position…omega. If it was his decision he would challenge Dagger to the right as alpha of the pack but just judging the size of the grey wolf, they were evenly matched. Not only were they evenly match, he still had to stick with the plan.
His crimson red eyes shifted away from Storm and Akira over to a lone white figure in the distance. Unik’s head slowly lifted up from the grass as his eyes stared in curiosity into a pair of sapphire blue ones. His eyes locked into the mysterious pairs of eyes of the white she wolf, something that made the fur on his back rise in fear. No one other than his father can make him feel this way. Looking at the white she wolf made his paws shifted uncomfortable in the grass. He shifted his weight upward still locking his gaze on hers.
Unik didn’t acknowledge confused stares that his friends were giving him, he was still focused…on her. His mind and body was telling him to get up and walk over there, but something at the back of his head was telling him not to go and stay there. But when the she wolf stood up and slowly started making her way towards him, his tail thumped excitedly into the grass.
“Unik are you okay?” Akira’s concern voice spoken but he did not acknowledge her.
Storm and Akira looked at Unik in confusion and at each other. They followed his gaze until they saw the white she wolf they encountered earlier. Storm looked at her the way Unik did, while Akira just frowned as she gotten a bit closer.
“Nadie!”
The sound of Dagger’s voice broke all three omegas from their trance and quickly jerked their heads towards the sound of the Alpha male. The three wolves stood up quickly when they saw him approach. Unik snorted as he knew what he had to do when they were in the presence of the alpha. Their ears splayed back against their heads as they tuck their tails between their legs. With a crouch the omegas waited until Dagger approached.
Dagger stopped in front of them, his golden eyes squinted as a low growl rumble in his throat. They were forced to lie on their stomachs whimpering, submitting to him just a like any omega would do. Unik’s pelt burned with anger and embarrassment as he was submissive and also in a weak position to where the white female just stood there watching…he wish he could just die right now after this horrific display. As his red eyes slowly reluctantly looked up at him, he could see a smug smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. Unik resist the sudden urge to lunge at Dagger and rip that smug smirk off his face, for now he bit his tongue trying to suppress a growl that was forming in his throat.
He sneered at the three omegas before turning his attention towards Nadie. Giving them one last glare he padded up to the white she wolf.
They watched him leave before standing up. “How long do we have to keep this up?” Akira harshly whispered growling softly. Her soft green eyes glared icily at the dark grey alpha. The silver coated female didn’t how long she had to keep up the charade, but if this treatment of humiliation was going to last she didn’t how long she was going to hold out before attacking one of her so call ‘pack members’…especially a dark grey one in particular.
“Until Sawtooth calls us back.” Storm answered. The russet wolf was feeling the same Akira, but he didn’t express it as openly as she did. He mostly kept it to himself.
Unik’s eyes closed as he sighed in frustration, “No matter what Dagger does to us,” He opened his eyes. His red velvety orbs were turn into slits, they were filled with hatred and slaughter like the ones of his father’s as he glowered over the dark grey alpha that was distracted at the moment. His black lips curled into snarl as a deep growl arose from his throat. “We’ll just get him back and the rest of his pack of mutts!” He spat before turning slinking away with Storm and Akira following behind him.
Chapter Nine: Awkward Pairs
“There’s something about him…but what is it? I can’t seem to put my paw on it, maybe I’ll figure it out later…”
Nadie was in deep thought as she walked on patrol with Dagger. She was utterly surprise at herself as the leader asked to accompany him on a patrol to see if there were any leftovers from the bull elk carcass they took down a few days ago. The white wolf didn’t know what overcame her when she agreed so quickly to join him. Her ears pinned to her head as her cheeks turned a soft pink with embarrassment.
Her mind began to slowly drift back to the pair of crimson red eyes she gazed upon today. Nadie didn’t understand why, but they had some strange attraction they drew her slowly into the black wolf. She intended on actual trying to talk to Unik, starting over with a more proper introduction than they had at their first encounter. She mentally cursed herself for not trying to speak to him sooner when they reached the den, but something deep within her head was telling not to do it. A soft sigh escape her lips as her eye lids fluttered closed; she did her best trying to wipe the visions of crimson red eyes and dark fur from her head. But her thoughts vanished when she bumped her head into something soft yet hard.
Slowly opening her eyes staring into a pair of concern dark golden ones, she gulped realizing that she wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings and bumped into Dagger. “Are you alright Nadie?” The dark grey wolf asked cocking his head to the side a little. Her white cheeks once again turned pink with embarrassment, “Y-yeah sorry I guess I wasn’t paying attention…” Nadie grinned nervously making the alpha stare more questioningly at her. His lips twitched slightly, as his tail swished in amusement at her strange behavior. “Just stay alert Nadie.” Dagger said as he gave her a gentle brushed his muzzle against her cheek before turning walking off. Luckily Nadie was glad he didn’t see how flustered she was at his strange gesture…why did he do that anyway? Was it because he was worried? Or was it just an ordinary wolf gesture? Or maybe because winter was approaching… No, she shook head at thought not allowing her mind to drift off into something as intense as that. Breaking out of her thoughts she trotted quickly to catch up to Dagger.
They reached the area where they last saw the bull elk, only for it to be reduced to bones and dry bits of skin hanging off its ribcage. The sounds of barking and yipping coyotes and various types of scavenger birds echoed loudly within the area. Dagger’s golden eyes closed as he sighed in frustration, the kill were supposed to last them for a week, now they’ll have to go out on another hunt again. His ears burned as he could hear the coyotes fighting and scrambling over whatever left of the carcass. A low frustrated growl rumble deep within his throat, his golden eyes open. For one thing he wouldn’t allow another predator within his territory. Secondly he wasn’t going to allow them to eat from his hard earned work…he had to get rid of the threat.
The fur of his neck seemed to lay down with he felt something warm brushing up against his shoulder. His attention turned from the scavengers over to Nadie, his angered seemed to calm down a bit as he felt her against him.
“Dagger calm down,” Her soft voice spoke to him soothing his tense body as he continued listening to the white she wolf.
Her nose gently brushed against his muscular neck as she tried her best to calm him down, “Don’t worry about them, we should go back to the den and call for a hunt.” Nadie suggested, hopefully this will take his mind away from the commotion going on behind them.
Dagger smiled nodding his head, “Okay, that’s a good idea.” He cleared his throat slightly, feeling a little embarrassed about overreacting over their previous kill. His head slightly lowered as his ears splayed to the back of his head, “Good idea Nadie.” He commented again as he began walking back towards the den. Nadie watched the grey wolf went from boiling anger to a now embarrassed little pup, she giggled as she caught up to him. “It’s okay Dagger, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about…” She nudged his shoulder with her muzzle. Dagger’s golden eyes gazed over at Nadie gratefully as a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Nadie chuckled once again and returned a smile of her own.
It didn’t take long for Nadie and Dagger to come back to the den. Dagger called all the members, including Unik, Storm, and Akira to meet in front of the den for assignments on tracking down some prey.
“We will split into groups of two; it will cover more ground that way.” Dagger explained.
“Aiyana, you and Willow will search the northern part of the territory.”
Willow’s emerald green eyes widen as she heard the alpha grey male pair her up with her mother. “What!” She barked in surprise as she sprang to her paws. Everyone turned to the creamy golden she wolf, staring at her in perplex expressions after her rude interruption. She sighed in defeat sitting back down on her haunches, her pelt burned with embarrassment as she looked away from everyone gazes. Her tail swished side to side as her ears folded back against her head with humiliation at her sudden outburst.
Dagger glanced over at Willow one more time before continuing to set the groups up. “Nadie, you and Kodiak will search the western part of the territory.” Nadie felt her heart dropped and her stomach collapse as she was paired with one of the most perverted wolves that walked the planet. She gasped in surprise when she felt something brushed up against her side. She reluctantly looked over to see Kodiak grinning at her waggling his eyebrows. Nadie rolled her eyes in disgust, ‘Kill me now!’ She sighed as she scooted slightly away from the brownish-auburn wolf. Her face utterly dropped in disgust as she felt him move closer to her.
With a sigh Dagger glanced over at Unik and Storm. He narrowed his eyes at the two omegas as he felt his fur bristle slightly with not only anger but a bit cagily as well …the reason was he was going to pair one of them up with his younger brother, he didn’t like his idea in the slightest but he knew he needed someone to keep an eye on one of them, while he watched the other. Taking a deep breath he seemed to calm down and looked over at Castiel, “Castiel I’m going to allow Storm to accompany you to search the southern plains of the territory…” Even though he was nervous of his brother safety, he hid the nervousness in his voice and stared at Castiel. The dark grey beta firmly nodded, only earning a flicked of an ear from his brother. After he looked from Castile, he gazed over at Unik…this was going to be the hard part. He cleared his throat and stared over at the black wolf, he felt fur on his neck rise with infuriation as he narrowed his dark golden eyes at him, “Unik…You’ll be going to the eastern part of the territory…” He did his best to hold back the growl that was beginning to form in his throat. “With me…” He finally mustered those two words from his maw.
Unik couldn’t be more infuriated yet pleased at the same time being alone with Dagger, this could be a great time for him to get information about the pack—he would know all of their strengths and weaknesses, and use it against them when the time comes.
“What about me Dagger?” A voice broke the silence in the group.
The dark grey alpha looked over at Nanuk who was staring questionably at him, then his gaze turned from the golden brown wolf to the silvery grey she wolf or Akira is what she was called. “Well someone does need to stay and watch-…”
“What!” An angered feminine voice interrupted Dagger something he wasn’t very fond of at all. His dark golden eyes met the ones of a storming she wolf approaching him. He felt his fur bristle in rage as his ears burned all the way to the tips impatience with the silver grey she wolf. “I am not pup sitting any runt!” She snapped something soon she would regret as soon as Dagger stood up. The dark grey wolf stood tall and muscles tensed up in irritation as a low growl begin to stir up in his throat. The dark grey wolf wasn’t about to be shown up by an omega, especially one that came from Sawtooth Pack…He was going these new wolves respect or he might as well rip them to shreds, something he had on his mind since the very first time he saw them. “Hold your tongue omega!” He roared causing a few gasping shocks from the crowd and even Akira herself. Though she was taken aback by Dagger’s enraged tone, this wasn’t the first time she’d been yelled at by an alpha. When it came to Sawtooth yelling at her, she usual brushed it off because she wasn’t as imitated by the somewhat small alpha. But now in front of Dagger, she felt small and almost willing to submit to the much broader and larger wolf…this was the first. No matter Akira showed no submission and continued standing her ground towards Dagger.
Dagger sighed; he slowly relaxed his muscles and felt his fur slowly lying back into place, “Storm you and Akira will be staying here keeping an eye on Fang.” When Akira opened her mouth to protest once again, Unik shot her glare that made her stop and snap her muzzle shut. Looking around to see if there anymore objections or interruptions he turned his gaze back to the others, “Alright let’s move out, if you find anything suspicious or useful just howl.” After murmurs of agreement and brief nods Dagger begin breaking away with Unik following a distance behind him, “Move out!” He called from behind him as the wolves broke away into their pairs.
Nanuk and Akira stood there in silence as they watched the pairs disperse in different directions. Until the silhouettes of each wolf disappeared into the distance. There was a thick tense silence in the air and Nanuk could feel it. The golden brown wolf gaze just lingered a bit longer onto disappearing pack mates before he turned his attention towards Akira. His soft golden eyes looked sideways over at the silver gray she wolf. The she wolf seemed to be quite oblivious to him at the moment, as he notices she was still staring at the spot where the pack members had left. Taking a deep breath he opened his maw to speak only for it to be interrupted by a surprise yelp.
Akira’s soft green eyes widen in surprise as her ears flickered at the sound of the yelp, she quickly jerked her head to where the noise came from. She felt a soft chuckle arise in her throat at the sight—the young pup which went by the name Fang, had a mouthful of Nanuk’s tail in his mouth. The sight was quite hilarious for the silvery colored she wolf, she tried her best to hold back her laugh so she wouldn’t draw so much attention towards herself.
“I wanna play!” The pup growled as he tugged on the older wolf’s tail making the pain a bit worse than it already is.
Nanuk sighed as he turned his gaze away from Fang and over to Akira who seemed to be giggling herself away at the moment. He shot her glare that made her laugh even more, “Aren’t you going to help!” He growled slightly making her stop. Akira smirked as she closed the distance between them to the point their noses almost touched. “You got everything under control…” She smirked again as she turned as she walked off her tail slid under his chin.
He stood there speechless as he watched her walk off; something inside him felt like fire was set a flame inside of him. His cheeks were a light tinted pink as he continued gawking at her sauntering figure.
“Ouch!” He felt another set of teeth chomping on his tail. The golden brown wolf looked over at Fang with a disapproving look. But this didn’t affect the pup at all as he shot Nanuk at glare of his own. With a sigh Nanuk admitted his defeat, “Fine let’s play…” He grumbled dejectedly as the pup cheered and bark in excitement. As Fang begin bounding off Nanuk slowly trailed behind him, before he went to go play he shot Akira a glare before trotting off.
Akira just smiled to herself as she watched Nanuk and Fang tussle around in the grass. “I think I'm going to like it here for a while.” She sighed contently as her soft green eyes stared over at the golden brown wolf.
Chapter Ten: Unexpected Discoveries
Each pair of wolves was having no luck finding any traces of prey. It was long in the afternoon and still no luck. Aiyana lowered her muzzle for umpteenth time for the day as she begin sniffing the ground and looking to see if there were any traces of animal tracks suitable to find. Her ear twitch slightly maybe she could pick up the sound of any nearby creature for her to hunt. Suddenly she heard distant mumbling come from behind and a faint noise of whining. Turning around she notices her eldest daughter approaching.
“I can’t believe him!” Willow muttered as she stomped angrily towards her mother, she was oblivious that she was breaking twigs and crunching loudly on leaves. Maybe that’s why there wasn’t any sign of prey around…Aiyana frowned as she waited for her daughter to come closer. “Did you have any luck Willow?” She questioned ignoring her daughter’s little temper as she had bigger things to worry about.
Willow stopped in front of her mother, “No!” She snapped before stomping past her mother. Aiyana sighed shaking her head, surprising enough she had the patience to deal with her daughter’s attitude. There were times she would tolerate it than there were other times she instantly put her daughter in check. But right now this isn’t time—there were no signs of any type of food right now…And she was beginning to worry.
As the angry creamy golden she wolf continued fuming at the thought of Dagger refusing her earlier, then she saw him and her bratty sister walking off together knowing what they did while they were gone, and now she was paired up with her mother…this day couldn’t get any more worse. Then she stopped her light brown nose begin twitching as she picked up a scent. Lowering her nose to the ground she picked up the scent of moose…and not just one either. She continued following the scent until she stopped noticing hoof prints in the dirt, they were several of them.
This day just got better.
Lifting her head she turned around looking for her mother, she spotted her a few inches away from her. “Mom!” She barked with an excited wag to her tail as her mom came trotting up to her.
“What’s wrong?”
“Look…” She pointed out the moose tracks.
Aiyana smiled, “Good job Willow!” She nuzzled her daughter momentarily before she caught another scent of something. Her nose twitches again, lowering her head she notice something else other than hoof prints of moose. They weren’t the only ones looking for moose, “Mom what’s wrong?” Willow said looking down before gasping. It was a paw print of a cougar…
This can’t be good.
“We have to warn the others!” Aiyana said apprehensively, her daughter nodded in agreement.
Aiyana did high pitched bark that quickly turned into a short howl which Willow soon followed after, their howls echoed across the territory as a warning to everyone that was within it. They stopped, “Let’s get back to the den!” Aiyana said nervously running off with Willow following worriedly behind her.
Kodiak and Nadie were spread out sniffing around. Kodiak was the first to hear the howl, he’s ears twitched as he jerked his head up from the ground and looked alert. He turned around looking for Nadie, when he turned he saw her staring at something fretfully. “What’s wrong Nadie?” He quickly walked up to her and looked over to see what she was gazing at.
He’s eyes widen. There was claw marks and blood mangled up on the bushes. “Those are cougar claw marks.” He snorted when he smelt the part of the blood covered bushes.
“Did you hear the howl from my mother and sister?” She asked sounding a bit uneasy at the moment. The brownish-auburn wolf nodded slowly and they both looked at each other worriedly. “We need to warn the others as well Koda…” He agreed with her with a brief nod.
At the same time both wolves made a high pitched bark that was quickly followed by a howl. Wasting no time they quickly bolted towards the den.
“This is very surprising news indeed!” Kodiak panted looking over at Nadie.
The white she wolf stared over at Kodiak with a look of confusing as they continued running towards the den. “What do you mean?” She questioned with a slight pant in her voice. Kodiak looked away from her perplex gaze and looked ahead. His eyebrows furrowed together as he realized this is the first time a cougar has be heard of in the territory, especially around this side of the forest anyway since it is heavily populated with wolves. He looked back over at a worried Nadie, “It’s very uncommon for a cougar to venture towards our territory, let alone ventured into any wolf territory.” He begin to elaborate more on the rarity of the appearance of cougar showing up. “There most a severe problem going on if they come venturing towards us.” He frowned a growl at the edge of his voice.
There was a small group of moose just grazing lazily on some twigs. There was three cow moose, and one juvenile male with them. The male was trying his luck to see if he could mate with one of them cows but because of his small rack of antlers they were not impressed at all. As he moved closer to a young female within the group, one of the older females chased him off followed by deep grunts and snorts.
Lying somewhere deep in the bushes a distant away from them was Castiel, his eyes were locked in firmly on the small group. His jaws were tight and his muscles were tensed up, he tried his best not to attack the moose. An impatient growl rumbled deep in his chest as he tried his best not to attack, he licked his lips hungrily as he shifted his body a bit. His stomach growled hungrily making the beta sigh with a whimper following softly behind it.
“Keep moving like that and the moose will hear you…” A deep voice came from behind and Castiel literally flinched almost scared out of his fur. He turned around to see Storm smirking playfully at him.
“Did I scare you beta?” He chuckled which made Castiel frown and look away from the amused russet wolf. His ears folded in discomfiture as his cheeks burned with embarrassment.
“No…” He mumbled turning his attention back to the small group of moose. Storm sniggered a bit as he carefully stood next to Castiel and lay down a little close to the beta. Castiel stared sideways at him, gazing a bit uneasily at him, he was surprise this wolf wasn’t nervous around him as he was with
Dagger...Ever since they separated in groups Storm made jokes and actual talked him.
Strange…very strange indeed…
“Like what you see beta?” Storm said with a playful grin.
Castiel felt his cheeks flushed as he cleared his throat after being caught off guard, much to Storm’s amusement.
“Yeah I do.”
His answer completely caught the russet wolf off guard as his bright yellow eyes stared disbelievingly at him. “Of the moose that is…” He added and begins chuckling softly watching his surprise expression turn into a frown on his face.
It went dead silent as the sound of a loud nasal call came from the small group. Both wolves head lowered when they noticed a large bull moose came strutting in, he larger than the juvenile much larger. He had large set of antlers far broader and larger than the younger one. The bull snorted at the sight of the other male and lowered his head chasing him off. Seeing the threat was taken care of the large bull returned to the cows. He begin scraping along the ground and forming a depression pit holes which he urinated in, much to cows liking and the wolves utter disgust. Storm cringed at the sight looking away while Castiel felt his stomach churning in disgust as he fought the urge to throw up last week’s meal.
Castiel noticed the moose had blood running down its side and large nose. At first he thought the bull must of got into a battle with another bull but then he noticed the where the blood was coming from, there were long scratches on his side and on his large nose. Castiel squinted his eyes more and notice those were cougar claw marks.
This is not good.
He turned facing Storm, he mouth to say something but then it was cut off by the faint sound of Aiyana’s and Willow’s alarmed howl then it was quickly covered by the sound of Nadie’s and Kodiak’s howl. Both wolves were startled by a snort and they turn to see the bull coming towards them.
They quickly turned and bolted out the bushes and distance themselves from the testosterone bull.
On a distant hill from the small group the two wolves stared warily at each other. “We be better head back and tell them what we discovered.” Castiel said looking over at the small group staring attentively at the cougar scratch bull moose. Storm nodded turning away from the beta, he made a high pitched bark that soon followed by a high pitched short howl. After a few moments of waiting both males turned and took off in the direction of where the den was.
The eastern part of the territory was mostly rocky and had a few small mountains that resided there. The two wolves Dagger and Unik were staring at the strange claw marks that were on a tree. This was territory marker of a… “Cougar…” Dagger said in a deep and concern tone. His dark golden eyes traced over the claws, a deep sigh escape his lips as he felt his body begin to boil in anger. Not only was he stuck with Sawtooth rejects, he was now stuck with a cougar in his territory.
Great…
Just another thing to stress him out.
His ears perked up at the sound of the howls coming from very directions of the territory…it seemed like that they weren’t the only ones to find this unexpected discovery. “Dagger…” The sound of Sawtooth’s son made him even more agitated. Turning around he face the black wolf, dark golden eyes locking irritably with crimson red ones. Unik wasn’t even swayed once by his stare, he just frowned at the alpha not backing down once…a move he’ll probably regret.
“Let’s head back to the den.” Dagger trotted passed him but not without growling at the black omega brushing passed his shoulder almost knocking off balance. Unik snorted slightly before he followed a distance behind Dagger, his body was just itching to take the opportunity to attack the dark grey wolf. But he just frowned and brushed it to the back of his mind…right now they had bigger problems ahead of them.
Damn cougars…
Chapter Eleven: The Neighbors
Dagger sat there patiently as he watched his pack converse rather raucously with each other. His tail flickered tediously in the dry brown grass as his ears would twitch stiffly at each voice around him. His eyes were clenched shut as he knew their problem, cougar…not just one but three of them. After observing the foul feline for the past few weeks he noticed a lot when going on patrol: the cougar was a female, young, naïve, and probably hasn’t seen a wolf in her life since she so boldly crossed into his territory. At first he chose to ignore the female and continued about his business as he knew he rarely used eastern part of his territory and most likely didn’t hunt there unless it was absolutely necessary, so he allowed the damn cat to stay but now he surely regrets not getting rid of the problem earlier. The cougar started hunting in his hunting grounds, and chasing most of the pack away from the kills, he noticed the cougar has been hanging around some of the den sites, that HE already claimed. AND worse of all the cougar had ghastly kittens hidden in one of the areas…it was time to get rid of the felines before they begin growing in population in this territory.
“That’s enough everyone!” Dagger said sternly making the turmoil around him bring to a standstill as everyone went silent.
He sighed opening his eyes, “I understand the situation that is unfolding here,” Dagger spoken as he stood up. “But we mustn’t let one cat throw us off; as long as we remained calm and focus our little problem will eventually go away…”
Dagger noticed the silence as he scanned the pack; his golden eyes stopped on one certain individual…Fang. The alpha hadn’t notice how much the pup grown from the summer when he first saw him to the fall of today. No longer was the pup small but he was bigger and leaner than his previous puppy fat he used to have. Maybe it was time for the pup or juvenile to earn his place within the pack.
The dark golden pup slowly shrinks back against his mother under Dagger’s golden gaze. Fang saw how serious and strict the alpha could be at times, that’s why he did his best to avoid him at all cost seeing how he put the omegas from the previous pack in their places in such a hostile way, it made the young wolf turn as white as his sister when he seen him around.
“Fang...” His hackles rose nervously as he heard his name from Dagger.
All the attention went from Dagger to Fang who was warily scooting closer to his mother.
A firmed nuzzled against his cheek made him calmed down slightly. He turned his dark brown chocolate eyes towards his mother, she had a reassuring look in her emerald eyes made him appeased at the moment. “Don’t worry son everything’s going to be fine…” She whispered warmly. Fang nodded stiffly as he stood up. The young pup slowly walked up towards Dagger, his ears were low and tail was firmly tucked in between his legs. He was showing ultimate submission towards Dagger, hopefully this will convinced the older wolf not to hurt him or humiliate him in front of everyone, even though he was doing it already.
Fang was slightly crouched in front of Dagger; his eyes looked to the side as his head turned away off to the side. “Don’t worry Fang,” Dagger reassured making the young wolf sigh in relief. “You can stand up straight…” Doing as he told, Fang stood up facing Dagger; he was still smaller than the dark grey wolf, only reaching up to his chest.
“Instead of worrying about our feline problem, we need to turn our attention to our youngest member,” Dagger looked over at the wolf then back at to the others, “Fang, is almost reaching the age where he can join us for the hunt.” There were slight cheers and murmurs of agreement coming from the others. “So let’s forget our troubles on show Fang the ways of the pack hunt, today marks a milestone not only for our pack but for our young Fang as well!”
Dagger tilted his head back howling excitedly followed by the others with the same enthusiasm. Fang looked around his tail wagging with delight; finally he was going to hunt for the first time. He looked over and saw his mother who was staring at him with pride in her eyes. Fang couldn’t hold back the overwhelming joy inside of him and begin to howl with the others.

The pack was following a trail of a white tailed buck through the autumn dense forest. Fang was trotting excitedly along with his mother and Nadie by his side, while he began to learn how to use his senses properly. He lifted his head in the air his nostrils would twitch trying to pick up the scent like the others were doing. Aiyana chuckled as she lifted her head off the ground, “Fang it’s better to keep your muzzle leveled with the ground to pick up the tracks better.” A sincere smile displayed across her face as she saw him looked down with a slight whimper. “Don’t worry son you’ll get the hang of it soon.”
Fang begin to notice that scent of buck was getting stronger, but something else begin to catch his nose as well. “Mom…” He looked towards her confused, but he saw how tight her jaw was and her fur rising up as the pack was edging closer. Fang’s ears twitched as he heard the growls from the others around him. He looked forward noticing how Dagger and Willow were slowing down making the others warily.
“Stay back Fang.” He heard Nadie growl softly as they stopped.
The female cougar that’s been bothering them for many weeks was eating the buck that they been tracking for all afternoon. Dagger stood there fur standing on edge as his lips were pulled back into a snarl; it was Willow and Kodiak, who were also growling with fury at the big cat as well. The others stood back not sure whether to attack it or not, but Dagger attacked without thinking first with Willow and Kodiak following closely behind him.
“Dagger wait!” Before Nadie could stopped she saw the large brute slammed right into the feline first, while Willow and Kodiak begin barking and circling the feline looking for a way to attack it.
With amazing speed and agility the cougar quickly sprung onto her feet, her ears flat and tail lashing out angrily at the wolves letting out a powerful hiss. Without warning she sprang forward her unsheathe claws quickly slammed into Dagger’s face make the alpha yelp in surprise and quickly moved out the way to prevent another attack. As the cougar’s main focus was Dagger, Kodiak intervene from behind lashed out his fangs biting down on the cougars back, but the large cat quickly turned slashing Kodiak across the muzzle making the brownish-auburn wolf retreat quickly. Willow charged in she stood face to face with the cat, head low and teeth bare. Both feline and canine begin circling one another, it was the cougar that lunge forward first to attack but Willow manage to escape the claws of the feline by jumping backwards, the creamy golden she wolf advanced forward jaws forward and deliver a fatal bite to cougar’s forearm as it was trying to attack her again. The feline yowled in pain and used her other paw slapping her claws down against Willow’s head, her claws raking against the she wolf’s cranium making her let her go and move out the way.
The cougar stood there panting, her tongue hanging out as blood slowly trickle down her forearm from the ground. The three that attack the cougar stood there growling, they weren’t tired at all. Wolves were made for stamina, while cougars were built for speed. Willow bared her now freshly cougar blood teeth at the feline as her scratch mark begin dripping out her head and slowly down her face. Kodiak’s muzzle was bleeding, and Dagger’s left side of his face was leaking blood.
The scent blood from both sides filled the air, Nadie and the others watched the stare off between the two enemies. By the looks of it no one was backing down at any moment. Nadie looked over at Castiel with a worried look in her sapphire blue eyes, “We have to do something!” She said worriedly. “Well we should-,” Then a clash of barks and hiss interrupted him. Once again canine and feline clashed with one another bits of fur, mixed with painful yelps and yowls filled the air. Once again both sides were silently facing each other preparing for another attack.
After another collision between them a plan came into Castiel’s head, “Well since the cougar has fast and striking blows and have swift reflexes we need someone to attack it from both sides while the other heads for the back.” Nadie nodded her head and looked to see who was left; she noticed the Sawtooth wolves weren’t looking too keen on helping out. But then she looked over at her mother and Nanuk but it seem that they were busy on keeping Fang away from the conflict.
“I’ll help….” The sound of Unik’s voice made Nadie looked at him for a second before nodding towards him and looking over at Castiel.
Just as they were about to clash the sounds of barking stopped them. Dagger eyes widen as he saw Unik and Castile charging towards the cougar. Both wolves begin corner both sides of the cat, the feline hissed and tried to claw at both of them but she begin to show fatigue in each of her strikes. Unik and Castile barked and growled snapping at air trying to get the cougar’s attention allowing Nadie to go in from behind.
The white she wolf’s eyes honed on her target, her muscles tense and lips twitching with edginess as she waited for the perfect moment to attack. She noticed how agitated and in pain the cougar was in, it would be a possibility that if she launched her attack the cougar could explode with rage and attack anything. But it was tiring out quickly and may just retreat after the attack. Her options were almost evenly matched…she had to pick one. With a loud snarl Nadie bolted forward, her irises turned into slits as she launched her fangs forward, with a loud snarl she latched down severely on the back of the cougar where Kodiak had bitten earlier. A painful yowl came from the cougar making Nadie let go, but she was surprise when the cougar turned around quickly. Before Nadie could think she felt heavy paws on her chest and claws gripping firmly on her chest.
Nadie was now facing eyes with death, as the cougar stood over head long fangs bared ready to strike her in the neck and deliver a fatal blow. She could hear her heart beating out of her chest as the feline fangs bolted forward, she closed her eyes tightly getting ready to feel her fangs pierce her wind pipe.
“Nadie!” The sound of Unik’s voice stopped the cougar and a streak of black came crashing into her. The cougar was sent flying off of Nadie, and landed on its side with a hard thud. She growled painfully as she rolled onto her paws shakily standing up. She wiped around to see what attack her and stood staring fearfully into the red eyes of the black wolf. The black wolf growled fangs bared almost abnormally larger to the average wolf made the cougar remember only one other wolf had those types of fangs. Then more wolves appeared coming towards her, the cougar backed away letting out a nervous hiss before turning and quickly darting off in the direction of the eastern part of the territory, that she stolen from Moonstone pack.
The pack watched as she disperse, Dagger looked over to see if everyone was okay. It was going to be a while before he saw the cat again but that’s not what he wanted, Dagger wanted the damn cat out before spring arrives for…he looked over towards Willow and then over at Nadie who was slowly getting up with the help of Unik. He felt that burning anger again watching them, but he turned his attention from them and looked over at Willow who was still bleeding from the scratch on her head. Giving them one last glance he padded over to the creamy golden she wolf.
“Willow are you alright?” He asked as he sniffed the scratch on her head.
“Yeah, I’m fine…” She heaved a painful sigh as she looked over at Dagger.
The alpha male shook his head, “No you’re not Willow.” He begin to lick the scratch on her head, but begin to lick it gently when he heard her wince. “You could’ve gotten yourself killed out there.” He said worriedly in between licks. Willow couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at his distress over her, “Well, I’m okay now.” She smiled softly looking up at him with heartfelt emerald green eyes. Dagger stopped his licking and look down at her with his own genial gaze before resuming licking much to Willow’s liking as she melted under its touch.
Unik looked over at Nadie who was still a bit shock after what happened to her, “Nadie are you alright?” He asked staring her up and down worriedly making sure she didn’t have any serious wounds or scratches on her. He saw he nod her head shakily but reassuringly making him sigh in relief. “I’m glad you’re okay…” He gently pressed his nose against her cheek in a sociable gesture as he pressed more of his body against her slightly quivering body.
Nadie was thankful for Unik’s friendly gesture to keep her calm, especially in her state. Her body seemed to calm down at the feeling of the black wolf’s bulkier body pressed up against hers. “Thank you Unik.” She sighed in relief as her body had completely stopped shaking.
“No problem…”
Both wolves locked eyes with each other, as warm genuine smiles spread across their lips. Unik couldn’t tear his eyes away from her; just staring at her eyes was like staring at a pond under the moonlight. The black wolf didn’t understand this new feeling…what was it?
Not too far away Dagger stared over at them with fiery envy in his dark golden eyes…
Chapter Twelve: Liaisons (Part One)
Days soon turned into weeks, and weeks soon turned into months. The fall season was now coming to an end as winter was now among the wildlife. From the mountains to the plains were covered in snow, the green hill sides were nothing more than white blankets of snow. The forest trees were covered in ice, and the many of the rivers, ponds, and lakes were nothing more than thick ice. Many animals were either hibernating to avoid the long winter months of hardships or migrating to the south for warmer climate and easier food to find. During this time many herds of elk, caribou, bison, moose and other type of herbivores traveled down the mountains towards the more open plains for better pasture. To many animals winter was the hardest season of the year, but for the wolves…it was time of plenty.
A herd of elk were shoving and kicking snow around to look for any access to plant matter that were buried under the blanket of snow. From a far on top of a hill Dagger and his pack stood silently downwind watching the herd at a distance, Dagger’s eyes were scanning the elk carefully searching for any signs of weakness, next to him stood a very excited yearling Fang as he finally gets to hunt for the first time with the adults. The dark golden yearling’s tongue hanged freely from his mouth as he panted excitedly watching the herd.
Fang had grew pretty fast over the spring and summer months, no longer was he a cute little chubby pup, now he was a yearling and ready to earn his keep in the pack. But he needed to learn the ways of the hunt within the pack first. Fang was still small compare to the adult wolves, but he was more leaner and gaining a few muscles around his body. The young one was more ambitious and bold compare to the others, and had more energy.
Dagger turned his attention away from the herd for a second and glanced over at Fang, “I see someone is excited for their first pack hunt.” The alpha smiled.
Fang nodded, “Yeah I can’t believe I finally get to hunt with you guys!” He barked as he got into a playful bow, this made the older male chuckle softly. “Well save some of that excitement for the hunt.” Dagger grinned as he nipped playfully at his ear; the yearling growled and tugged his ear away from Dagger’s teeth, making the dark grey alpha smirked at him. Dagger turned around slowly started walking towards the others to give instructions on today’s hunt, leaving Fang to keep an eye on the herd for a while. “Don’t do anything crazy until I get the pack.” Fang just rolled his eyes and plop down in the snow with a frustrated grunt.
The large male approached the others; his dark golden eyes stared at the pack as he noticed how larger it got this season. What started out as four wolves of the Moonstone pack became a larger number of now eleven wolves strong. ‘And by spring the number could become even larger’, he turned his attention towards Willow who was sitting next to her mother and then gazed over at Nadie who was in conversation with…him.
He felt some strange churn in his stomach as he watched Nadie and Unik converse with one another. A low growl formed in his throat as he watched the black wolf, he didn’t like the fact that he was around Nadie. After the cougar attack Dagger remembered how close they gotten, how much time they spent together, and how much closer they were getting. He didn’t like it one bit, watching the Sawtooth mutt closing in on his ma…
Wait…what?
Dagger shook his head slightly, he just shrugged off the feeling of almost claiming Nadie as his own…Anyway the large alpha male walked towards the two conversing wolves. “Nadie,” He called out to her bumping Unik harshly out the way, the black wolf sneered at the alpha male before turning and slinking off towards Akira and Storm. He stopped and looked back to see Nadie giving him an apologetic look, he smiled at her before continuing walking away.
“You know you didn’t have to push him away like that.” Nadie scolded Dagger like a mother would do to a pup. The dark grey alpha looked down as he started kicking the snow up with his paw, feeling slightly embarrassed.
“Well you don’t have scold me like a pup!” He frowned at the white she wolf.
“Well somebody,” She shoved her muzzle against his making him step back slightly in surprise, “has to keep your little brutish nature under control!” She glared at the dark grey alpha failing to realize that their noses were touching each other. There was standoff between the two wolves before there were a couple of snickers heard around them.
“So are you two going to bump uglies or what?” Kodiak commented making everyone laughed except for Willow, who glared at the two wolves. Dagger and Nadie both gasped as they quickly separated from each other. Nadie’s cheeks were red with embarrassment as she kept her gaze everything else but the dark grey brute male standing in front of her.
Dagger’s cheeks were just as red as hers; he quickly cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention. “So, t-there’s a herd of elk dow-.”
The sounds of barks and screeching elk were herd from the other side of the hill. “Fang…” Dagger growled quickly running back to where he last left Fang with the others following quickly behind him.
“Fang what do you think you are doing!” Aiyana yelled out to her stubborn son.
Dagger frowned, “We need to get down there before one of cows find out he can’t hunt.” The pack quickly ran down the hill and after the troublesome adolescent before he got himself into any more trouble than he is already in.
The adolescent’s tongue hanged freely from his as he continued chasing the herd of cow and yearling elk through open snow blanket meadow. He barked and panted excitedly as he continued chasing them for entertainment. But the fun for the pup quickly ended as soon as it began, one of the mature cow elk quickly turned the tables on him. She could since his inexperience, and turned on him.
Fang’s eyes widen as she came charging towards him, the pup quickly begin running away with his tail tucked between his legs.
The cow elk stomped her sharp powerful hooves on the ground as she continued chasing after the nuisance. It was music to her ears when she heard the inexperience hunter yelp and whined as her hooves just barely touched his tail. Seeing that he was far away now from the others the cow elk stopped and watch the young wolf run away fearfully. She turned and with a triumph huff, she trotted back to her herd with pride in her step.
Big mistake…
“I show you a thing or two about messing with my pup!” Aiyana snarled as she came crashing into the cow and savagely bit down on her flank with her powerful jaws. The elk screamed out in pain as she tried to shake off her now more experience attacker. Before the elk could try and shake off the wolf, the rest of the pack quickly came in to support Aiyana and attacked the elk at all sides.
With their sharp jaws and combined weight they pulled the gloating cow elk and Dagger delivered the fatal blow to the windpipe.
The pack begins eating all except the former Sawtooth wolves who glared at them as they waited their turn to eat with Fang looking dejectedly at the pack.
As they continued eating there were tension going on between them, Willow begin growling and snapping at everyone to get a spot of her own with the best meat on the elk. Nanuk, Castiel, and Kodiak quickly got out of her way to avoid any more conflict for a spot. She dared not to try anything on her mother…
But Nadie was her next victim…
She saw her sister eating too close Dagger and she wanted that spot all to herself. The creamy golden she wolf stepped next to her sister, her emerald green eyes glared callously at Nadie. “Move…” Willow spoke furiously as her lips curled back into a growl…She wanted this spot and if that means beating the white she wolf to a pulp…then she will.
Nadie’s hackles rose when she heard her sister’s cold tone, the white she wolf put her paw on the spot she was eating on and glared over at her sister. “I’m not going anywhere, there’s enough food for everyone to eat…” Nadie’s tone was just as dark Willow’s; she was the only one out of the pack who wasn’t afraid to challenge her aggressive sister.
“I won’t tell you again!” She snapped as she walked closer to Nadie.
Nadie stood up facing her sister, she wasn’t going to budge not one bit. Their eyes locked deadly onto each other and Nadie wasn’t going to back down easily. Taking another step forward, “I said no.” She was now growling.
“Damn brat, I’ll show you your place!”
Willow’s attack was quick and unexpected; she grabbed the side of her sister’s neck and slammed her down into the snow. She had her in a submissive position; her sister’s thick white fur muffled her growling as she had a firm grip on her neck.
Nadie wasn’t going to give up and submit that easy, she awkwardly shook her body to get out or loosen her sister grip a bit. With a growl she turned her body and sent a kick to her side. When Willow grunted in pain this made her hold on her sister loosen, this gave Nadie the advantage and she rolled onto her stomach with Willow’s teeth now awkwardly still around her neck, she thrusted her body upward causing her neck to spread Willow’s neck wider and almost break her jaw.
The creamy golden wolf gagged and quickly let go of Nadie, she backed away slightly almost losing her balance.
Both wolves were now staring down each other, both of their muscles was tensed as they got ready for the next attack.
“Enough!”
The sound of Dagger’s voice stopped their advancement and looked towards their leader.
“I will not tolerate any petty fights over a spot on the kill!” He growled and glared over at Willow, who embarrassingly looked away from him. “Now return to eating, we have other mouths that need to be fed.” Dagger frowned as he returned to back to the carcass. Willow and Nadie glared at each other before turning back to the carcass, as they returned they came face to face with their angry mother.
“I’ll deal with you two later.” She growled making them shrink back in fear.
All three she wolves went back to the kill to finish eating, this time Aiyana ate next to Dagger, while Nadie ate in between Castiel and Kodiak, and Willow ate next to Nanuk.
As they ate, Willow glowered over at her sister, this wasn’t the last time she’ll hear from her. If tension was thick between them before, now it was even thicker between two sisters. Willow wasn’t going to let Nadie get the best of her…
And she wasn’t going to let her have Dagger…
