{Chapter 1 - Not Everything Lasts forever}
Chapter 1
It was a cloudy day, not a ray of sun to be seen for miles, though it didn't seem to be unusual for this quiet pack of wolves. It seemed like an ordinary day, pups prancing around in the damp green grass, the mothers supervising them, the young wolves being sent out to find prey so the pack could feast. Just... Normal. Though one specific wolf found it discomforting, the female wolf seemed to be put off due to the cloudy weather, though it has been predicted to rain very soon, but she has convinced herself that something bad will happen. Ellie had anxiously wandered around, though not to stir up any kind of commotion, she couldn't help herself. Others soon took notice, Ellie isn't usually the type to even be nervous, which was concerning, soon a large black male trotted over to her. Ellie looked up at the male, straightening herself up to look presentable for her rank leader, "Yes Sir?" She instinctively said, all recruits that were part of any fighting rank were to address their leaders in a respectful manner. "I've noticed that you've been pacing back and forth for a while, anything the matter?" He asked, tilting his head in the process. "Well you see... It's just... I've been getting bad vibes from this weather, it seems... Like something bad will happen..." She sighed shrugging, her ears flattened as the male began to laugh, making her sound silly. After drawing some attention to them, the large black wolf controlled his laughter, "Ah Ellie, you're adorable! Look nothing bad is going to happen, do you see how big our pack is? He gestured his body to have Ellie take a glance at everyone, "This pack has been around for generations! This pack is practically unstoppable!" He grinned, he underestimating the dangers out in the world. True, this specific wolf pack has been through hell, but Ellie still felt off about it. "B...But Sir-" "Kid, don't worry about it. You're safe, everyone's safe. As long as our troops don't decide to take a five minute nap" He began laughing at a comment he found humorous, though it actually wasn't. Ellie forced herself to give a small chuckle, her tail beginning to swish back and forth. "There yah go! Don't think about it too much okay? Don't want the mothers riling up again like last time..." He said, turning his body and walking off back to the other rank leaders. What a dreadful thing to bring up, Ellie groaned at the memory of having to round up the mothers and pups after an announcement the Alpha gave about possible wolf strangers roaming the territory due to lack of wolves patrolling and marking the territory, what a nightmare, Ellie could still hear the squealing mothers in the back of her head. Though she brushed that off and began trotting over inside the den, it was a daily thing she does, checking up on her father, mother and little sister. Ellie's family wasn't big, and shes glad of that, or else she would have to scamper around keeping up with them, making sure none of them has gotten in trouble or even worse. As Ellie arrived inside, she was greeted by familiar mothers and a few omegas that helped with the new mothers and born pups, she nodded with a smile back at them. She made her way to the back end of the cave, seeing her mother, Jay, and her sister Emma. She raised a brow noticing her father was gone, "Wheres pa-pa?" She asked, knowing her father was almost an elderly, seven years old. Ellie's father had been in many combats with stranger wolves to know that he has had trouble getting around the territory, let alone around the den without limping from permanent damage to his legs. Jay shook her head, "I have no clue, he said he would be back but he hasn't returned in a few minutes..." It was obvious she was worried, but she smiled up at Ellie to calm her nerves. Ellie stand down next to her, licking Emma's head to catch her attention, she was only a year old, Ellie was a year older. Emma shot her head up and looked around, looking behind her with widened eyes before giggling, sitting up and leaning against Ellie, "Hey sissy!" The yellow wolves said happily, she was always to excited to see her older sister, shes always worrying whether Ellie would return safely. "Hey Lil Bit, how you holding up? Is everyone doing well in here?" "Mhm! I got asked to help someone today!" Ellie chuckled, nuzzling into Emma's fur "good job kiddo!" Ellie said, beginning to talk with her family for a few moments longer. Though it came to a time where Ellie had realized it had grown dark outside, "Well, I enjoyed this talk, but I best be going." Ellie sighed as she got up, though something was clinging to her leg, when she looked down she found her pup like sister holding onto her. "No! Not another night! Its dangerous out there! Please stay one night at least, pleeeaaase?" Emma begged, though Ellie shook her off shaking her head "Sorry, but rules are rules... But I promise to see if I can get a night off" Ellie had began walking out, but turned her head and smiled "love you guys, Oh! Mami tell pa-pa I was here and that I said hello." Jay nodded with a smile "I will, I love you too, stay safe." "I love you too big sis!" Was the last thing Ellie heard before exiting the cave, being sent out to the forest to do a patrol run.
It grew darker and colder, almost making the job irritable, though Ellie kept going, but something told her to return to the territory. She knew this feeling was going to come, and she hated it. She sighed giving in, after moments of contemplating whether to listen to her gut she began racing back to the territory. 'Was it really bad?" She thought to herself, her mind racing of what could be happening. 'please god nothings happening... please god nothings happening... please god-' She instantly came to a stop, the scent of blood crawled up her nose, her stomach twisted in a knot. The first thing came to mind is to find her family. In the Den. With quick movement she dodge the darkened colored wolves, leaping over fallen corpses of comrades she once knew. This made her feel sick. Bolting in, she saw her mother and sister being cornered by two snarling wolves, Ellie's eyes widened. She let out an enraging bark before sprinting forward, ramming her body into the side of one of the wolves and instantly lunged for their neck. Sinking her teeth into its flesh, she tore it out with no problem, but was soon tackled by the second wolf. Taking a scratch to the chest, she kicked off the offending wolf with her hind legs and bit into the wolfs chest multiple times before the wolf went limp. She looked to Jay and Emma, but wasn't given enough reaction time for when Jay had shoved Emma against Ellie. "Go! Don't look back! I will meet you at Jasper's!" "No mami we aren't leaving-" "Ellie! Take Emma and go!" She snarled, forcing Ellie to pick up Emma by the scruff and carry her out. Hurrying, they managed to dodge all the wolves, eventually becoming out of breath as they reaches the small isolated den, "Jasper! Jasper!" Ellie called out in panic, Jasper came rushing out. "Ellie! Emma, what are you doing here? Whats doing on? Though Ellie left Emma with Jasper, racing back to the territory, completely ignoring her mothers request. Though once she arrived she saw her mothers body lay barely outside the den, everyone slaughtered, all the people she knew... Gone. Tears welded up in her eyes at the sight, but snapped back into reality when the outsider wolves saw her, snarling and lunged at her. Quick enough Ellie dodged, there were too many for her to kill. So she ran. As fast as she could, until long minutes later she had managed to lose them. She panted heavily from the long chase, but it wasn't over yet. She whipped her body around and raced up the mountain, 'please still be there please still be there please still be there...' Ellie's luck had ran out. When she arrived no one was at the den. Her heart sank, looking everywhere. "... Emma?"

{Chapter 2 - There are Consequences to Everything}
Chapter 2
As the gloomy day continued on into the night, the weather had only to grow worse. Making the pack of wolves irritable when it began to rain, which was the last thing they needed. The black and gray wolf prowled around, making sure all the wolves had gotten into the den, no stragglers. God how much Kolby hated this. He cursed under his breath as his pelt had begun growing heavy by the rain, only making it much harder to get things accomplished. 'God how slow are you wolves?!' Kolby thought to himself as he glanced over to his former companions, only the blood in his body beginning to boil with anger, more than he had already built up in him. He left his post and padded over to the group of wolves that actually were slacking off and talking to each other... About nonsense. No. Once Kolby had approached the group, he roughly shoved a brown wolf out of the way, almost knocking them over. "What the hell do you think you guys are doing?! He snarled at them, his forest green eyes lighting up brighter than the wolfs dull yellow colors. Almost the entire pack had that colored eye, which he found weird. Making him an outcast, which he had put his reputation as for his aggressive nature. "Whoa Kolby chill out, whats your problem?" One male wolf asked in a dull tone, "My problem?! The problem I'm having is that you lazy asses won't do anything! I'm stuck doing the work! He retorted, growling from the back of his throat with fangs barred, "You're doing a good job though." Another wolf said, Kolby only grew angrier. "Oh shut up! Every task you put me to work! And all you do is talk about nonsense! He barked at them, fuming with rage, this was the last straw, but he was a new recruit. Though Kolby was always known for his violence ever since he was a pup, but when he got into the ranks, the higher ranks picked on him often. He was 3 years old, just as old as the higher ranks which made no sense to him, he just hasn't been able to rank up fast enough from his reputation and others sabotage. One wolf began bursting into laughter, Kolby's glare stabbing the wolf who found this amusing, "What are you laughing at?!" He snarled, if he were to lung at them, he would be kicked out of the pack. "Ahh, your funny Kolby! Your rank is below ours, I don't see why you have to tell us what to do!" He snickered, Kolby shouted back at him, ""It is raining out here! Pups and wolves are still having trouble getting into the den! And I'm the one only leading them in!" He rammed into the wolf that was laughing, knocking him into the mud. Only a distressed sound came from him, but the other wolves came in and begin shoving Kolby around when they saw their friend on the ground. Though it didn't last long until a booming voice came from behind them, they stopped and Kolby looked up, seeing the Alpha has appeared, but he was furious.
"Soldiers! What do you think you're doing?! Help the wolves into the den, Now!" He barked, the wolves had trotted up to him "Sorry Sir! We had to teach ol' Kolby a lesson for slacking off" The wolf grinned, turning to look at him with the sinister grin. He was about to explode. "Just get towork! And Kolby, actually do something!"
He snarled as he turned and stomped off to the den. Kolby grumbled and got back up, going to his post and calling the wolves over. After all of the wolves have made it into the warm den, small groups of wolves were sent out to patrol the perimeter since their markings have washed away due to the rain which had began to drift away. Which was the only good thing that has happened tonight. Though Kolby was assigned with three of the wolves he was shouting at, he tried to get involved with their conversation and walking fast, making them have to catch up which grew an irritation for them. "Hey Kolby! Slow down! Hey! Whats your problem!" "You're my problem! He shouted back as he continued on, but was soon stopped when one of them rammed their body against his in a tree. They backed off and snarled, but weren't expecting Kolby to lung at them. Kolby was quick enough to ram his head into the wolfs jaw, quickly moving his head to where his teeth were sinking into the wolfs throat. A loud yelp echoed through the forest, Kolby shook his body around like he was a rag doll, then tossing him aside with his snarling at the other two. Though it didn't take long when the Alpha and a Beta came charging over, they gasped in horror when saw the corpse of the wolf. The alpha snarled at Kolby "What happened here?!" But it was clear what happened, Kolby didn't say a word after he was scratched on the nose deeply, he backed off and growled. "You have caused too much harm in this pack... You are now banished from ever coming into this territory or any contact with any wolf in this pack!" Though Kolby didn't care, he flicked his tail at him, "Whatever! I'd rather be a loner than be with damned pack!" He barked as he stormed off into the dense forest, he soon vanished into the wilderness. Not a trace left behind.

{Chapter 4 - The World is Cruel, Yet Beautiful}
Chapter 3
As the rain has passed over, the small white wolf had been stumbling around the dark forest, her arms and legs raked with scratches and deep wounds, her body beaten severely with wounds similar to the ones on her legs. How dreadful. Though Mitsuna keep treading on, but no clue on where to go, she had no family to return to, since they had abandoned her when she was younger. Every pack that she has encountered has threatened to kill her or has left marks on her, but she managed to recover or overcome some of them, but it was hard. She didn't like to fight, but nobody cared, they found her unnatural. Because her fur had light shades of blue, it was an unnatural color for wolves, making others think she would've brought bad luck to their pack. Unnatural colors were uncommon, but it has affected to a few wolves, which their survival at an all time low. Mitsuna has been alive for much longer though, eventually thinking at times that she wasn't bad luck... Though the thought wasn't important at the moment. She had to find food, she was weak and starving, but she could try and get something for herself to eat, but she hated harming innocent animals. She always hated violence, but she can't seem to get away from it, a raspy sigh escaped from her mouth as she lazily opened her eyes, walking aimlessly the majority of the time. It was only a blur, the amount of blood she has lost has began to take a toll on her health, only to collapse to the ground with a loud grunt. She began to whimper loudly, the pain began shooting up through her body, almost too much for her to withstand. She attempted to get off the wet ground, her fur completely matted with mud and the rain which made it more difficult, but she only had slipped back down. Moving her body to the side, she had thought about just giving up, she was incapable of doing anything. Hunger gnawed at her stomach as she laid there, completely exhausted. Tears welded in her eyes, she didn't want to die. It was a scary thought, but she thought she had no other choice. Mitsuna closed her eyes, she would die alone. She didn't like this, but I guess it was meant to be this way? She would never know, but for one this is sure that it wasn't fair... Mitsuna slowly drifted into a black world, her ears ringing as she drifted away from reality.
What she hadn't expect is to actually open her eyes, and see that she was in a warm den... How? This isn't real... Is it...? Mitsuna asked herself, she grunted and winced as she tried to sit up in some way. How did she managed to get here? She kept questioning, but not long after till a figure blocked the bright rising sun. She blinked a few times, before the figure showed to be a large gray and black male that stood in the entry way. Oh god what do I do?! She begin to panic inside her mind, but she was interrupted when the male asked her a question... "Are you feeling alright? You looked pretty beat up..." He said, Mitsuna was baffled. Was he actually wondering about her health? This wasn't real. She tried to say something but it only came out a squeak, embarrassed she hid her face from him, only feeling more ashamed when she heard him chuckle. Once she looked up she saw him sitting in front of her, she squealed in fright from the silent movement he had made. The male had jerked his head back, "I-Uh sorry... Yeah but anyways, I'm assuming you're going to be okay. Whats your name, if I may ask?" He asked, Mitsuna swallowed hard, she was a very shy wolf, never really had interacted with wolves when she was in a pack. Finally gaining enough courage to actually say something, she quietly spoke, "M...Mistuna..." "Mitsuna...." He grinned at that, "I'll call you Mitsy, seems easier to say. Though I gotta say, you have a pretty name" Mitsuna smiled, her nose grew extremely hot with embarrassment, "T-thank you..." She stuttered. "W-whats yours..?" She asked, "Kolby." He replied with a smirk. Mitsuna smiled with a nod, she wincing when she attempted to adjust her body, she had forgotten the wounds, but when she went to take a look they seemed to be gone...? Mitsuna licked the still deeply cut wounds, her ears perking when she heard him get up from his spot. "W-Where are you going..?" She asked, almost worried that he would leave her. Not again. Though the male turned around with a confused look at her, "Just some food, you look like skin and bones" Was the last thing he said before he trotted out, Mitsuna smiled, was this the beginning of anew? Could Mitsuna actually survive? Kolby didn't find her weird... This was too good to be true...
"Who are you?! State your business dog!" "It's none of your damn business mutt!
Oh no...

{Chapter 5 - The starting of anew}
Chapter 5 - Three Unlikely Wolves
Mitsuna had spoken too soon. Of course something like this would happen, she had to do something, her first idea is to get up. Though with these kinds of wounds, it will be a challenge for her. Mitsuna gritted her teeth and pushed her body upward, whimpering in the process, she was much too sore and beaten up for this kind of movement. She had collapsed against the hard rock beneath her, grunting loudly, though she hadn't given up yet. She tried one again, going slowly and easily, successfully getting to her feet, she began to walk slowly out of the den into the wilderness once again. The sun had shone brightly high up in the sky, forcing Mitsuna to squint to look around, but it wasn't too hard to detect where the argument had begin. "S-Stop!" She barked, slowly going down the hill, the two wolves had looked over from the loud shouting. One had her lips pulled back into a snarl while Kolby had almost towered over the female with his ears folded back.
The females fur stood up high with her blue eyes glaring down the two strangers, her claws dug deeply into the soil, her stance ready to lunge if one of them decided to make a move. Her ears perked forward when the struggling female slowly made her way down the hill, making her tilt her head in confusion, she looked like the white wolf had been through some hard stuff lately. Hmm. She turned her attention back to the male with the glare. Kolby had only glared right back at her, but backing up a bit to be able to talk to Mitsuna, "Why are you out here? You aren't fit to walk." He asked, his ears pulled backwards in case the other female had moved, Mitsuna huffed when she came up closer. "Why does it have to be violence? Can't you two settle this rationally?" Kolby furrowed his brows at her, though the brown female stranger didn't pose as a threat at first... Guess it was just natural. As though for the stranger, she was curious why the male had turned his attention away from her, she grinned though. She silently padded over, though distancing herself from the bigger male by going to the white and oddly colored female. "Yeah what are you doing out here? You should be resting." She obviously had obviously put the smaller female on edge, also receiving a loud snarl from the male. "What do you want mutt?" He spat, acting like he is the alpha of a pack. A non existent one thats for sure. Ellie flashed a smile to him, "Oh you know, just wandering around this forest without a care in the world!" She said with sarcasm tied into her voice. She knew the male picked it up easily and he became more frustrated. Kolby had flicked his tail and narrowed his eyes, "State your business and your name" He ordered, though the female has flicked her tail right back at him. "Since you want to know so badly... Its Ellie. The reason I'm here is because I'm just looking for a place to stay I'm guessing." Ellie finally replied and she sat down in the dirt. Mitsuna smiled and wagged her tail, getting in between the wolves. "Hello Ellie!" She saying with enthusiasm, trying to bring up the mood as much as possible. "I-if it wouldn't be so much of a hassle... You're more than welcome to stay with us for a few days..." Mitsuna added, Kolby on the other hand not agreeing to this offer. "Mitsy, we can't just let strangers-" He was soon cut off when the small white female looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, he couldn't say no to that.... Kolby sighed and shrugged, he turning his body and trotting off into the dense forest to do his original task. Ellie watched him go but turning her attention back to the one nicknamed as 'Mitsy'. A genuine smile crept up and she shrugged as well, "It would be nice, thank you." Her fluffy tail had begun to wag before standing up. "Here lets get you back up to that den, wouldn't want you getting even more hurt." Ellie said, going to the side of Mitsuna and letting the small female lean against her as they both walked slowly up the hill.
Guess Mitsuna was still right about starting anew. This might work out just fine.
(sorry for the short chapter! I was suuuper lazy but I'll try to make the next one longer ^^)
