So, I've realized that I just come up with these random scenarios but I never really jot them down. Who knows, maybe they'll be useful somedayyyy. Maybe some of these could be added into Ironic's past? Hmm.
Ironic shot awake. At first, his icy blue eyes hadn't adjusted to the black abyss. What had woke him? The air was crisp from the fresh frost that rang the arrival of winter. His double blues had grown accustomed now, the dim moonlight providing enough illumination to see the stiff dormant trees that continued seemingly forever. His heated breath rolled from between his ajar jaws projecting a thick white cloud before his black wet nose. Black. He'd matched the darkness to perfection, with the exception of a white dot that painted sloppily upon his furry chest. Glancing around, an occasional glimmer of verglas that lay neatly against whatever lie on the forest floor would catch his attention.
He heard it again; the thing that'd woke him. It was from a far distance, but man did they have lungs. Their screaming bawls sliced into the quiet of the motionless night. It'd been motionless before they'd arrived in the timber at least. How many? Ironic estimated by their calls; maybe five. That'd be more than enough to cause a fatality. They were closer now, and their heavy voices forced chills up his spine. Oddly, their thrashing wasn't heard throughout the bitter forest. It hadn't truly worried him until the call were only one hundred feet away. Booming with anger and suspense. They weren't after him. That's not what they were for. But if he was found by their well trained noses, he knew that getting out alive wasn't in his favor. A whooping from a familiar creature not too far off signaled encouragement to the excited beasts. Ironic didn't want to leave. He was too curious to find out what was going to happen. Far too young to know any better, he stayed. Perhaps it wouldn't only be cats that curiosity killed. Perhaps curiosity killed the canine.
(lol I might add onto the first sample later)
"You're leaving?" She'd spoken with a shocked tone, as if she hadn't expected it beforehand. Her white paw that had been horribly tainted with mud from the previous rain still showed proof of the precipitation. Lifting it inches above the ground with a head cocked back indicated either frustration or sadness; perhaps a concoction of that and then some. The sun was now drifting into concealment and the colors produced from this action allowed a warm glow to radiate from her pelt. Not that she hadn't already appeared incredibly feminine, but the shade of pink only added to her appearance.
"You act as if I were actually staying in the first place." Ironic said sternly. A heated breeze seemed to excavate his neat fur that converted into a perfect mess. The sweet heart of summer offered comfort carrying with it the delicious scent of cedar, honey and delicate flowers. Why did that come out in such a rude way? Ironic questioned himself before a sympathetic expression decorated his masculine face.
"Because I thought maybe we'd be enough for you stay. I thought maybe I'd be enough for you. to stay" Her once sweet, begging voice had turn cold and harsh. Her striking blue eyes met with his. During this moment Ironic enjoyed the fact she'd been smaller than him.
"It's not that you aren't. I really, really enjoyed it here and I promise you I will come back." Ironic stepped forward, studying the different directions of her ghostly fur. "I promise... Don't you get it? There is so much of the world out there and I have only began my life. Many mountains to climb over, valleys to prance through, waterfalls to admire, stars to observe. Various landscapes and ecosystems to explore. I have to see it. I have to see it all before I die an old dog sitting within the outcasted ranks of a pack. There's so much more out there than this. I just want to discover it. If you'd wish to change your mind about coming with me, follow my lead." Ironic stepped off beside a stray growing patch of grass that the elk had clearly missed.
One foot in front of the other, his paws connected with the warm soil and his tail wagged from the shocking engulfment of freedom. His pace increased, but only to end with a sudden stop. His young face turned back in the direction it once was before to see a white figure bound for him. His smile grew as fast as the grasses, and his tail wagged too fast to keep up with. With a sorrowful look, she hesitated meanwhile staring up at him before she'd nuzzled his chest. Closing her eyes, a tear trickled from her tear duct. "Don't forget your promise." She said with a muffled sniffle. Ironic nodded slowly before sluggishly trailing off into the darkening forest of mystery and fate.
(ewwww, deleting this long wall of text or revamping it. lol, forget I even wrote this. It's 2:30am and I am exhausted. Longest. undescriptive sample to be made from me)
(My favorite, because it was a starting post with a really good friend of mine on here. #Ilovecommas)
The moonlight shimmered across the forest floor as the light weight breeze tugged softly at the cedar's arms. I closed my eyes, listening to the night birds, the wooshing of the dancing trees and the calls of the crickets and tree frogs. All of them seemed to melt together in something beautiful. My ears perked and a tingle went down my spine. I lifted my paw a few inches from the leaves and twigs, curled my tail into the air as if it were going to reach the ever-glowing stars and howled. I howled until every inch of my body felt numb and embraced in song. I howled until my throat vibrated so much to where I could no longer feel it. I howled until everything in my soul, every tense muscle and every worry seeped from me. All of that in one booming howl. Immediately after I was done I could still hear the eerie echo of my bellow. It rushed through the dark air, losing its sharpness as it passed along every tree. I smiled, my pearly whites shining; my lips revealing them like a theater curtain.
