{Chapter 1}
I watch as the clouds roll past the summer skies of Montana through a tinted car window while listening to my Ipod. The current song was Kick Me by Sleeping with Sirens, my favorite band. After another boring 10 minutes I can see a green sign that reads "Welcome to Azure Ridge" and the road suddenly turns to gravel instead of actual pavement. The white moving van in front of us screeches into the drive way of me and my mother's new house. Also known as my new hell. They say to never judge a book by its cover, but it's hard to not judge my new house. It once was a pastel green, but now the paint is peeling, showing what I can only imagine is rotted wood, and the garage door has to be opened manually. I dash over to the moving van to begin unloading my crap. Slowly dragging the last of my belongings into my new room, I crash ungracefully onto my bed and pull out my phone. It's only 9:35 so I text my best friend, Anabelle.
"hey anabelle. just got to the new house. whats up?"
It takes her a moment to respond and I hear my phone buzz as I switch my clothes. I glance at the screen and see the text preview.
"Hey Kasey. Not much, except the sky i guess. gtg, homework."
Typical Ana. She always has something to do. I reluctantly set my phone on the table next to my bed and stare at the ceiling. I missed my brother, Chris, and my father. My parents had a falling out and I'd gotten stuck with my mother after the divorce. I remember seeing the bright stars and such outside my dusty window as I fell into the wonderful land of sleep.
Walking into the kitchen I get the sweet, sweet smell of blueberry muffins. Quickly grabbing one and stuffing it into my mouth, I grab my favorite pair of Converse.
"Bye mom! See you after school!" I yell with the muffin still held by my teeth, crumbs flying everywhere.
"Dang it Kasey, your getting crumbs everywhere!" My mom shouts.
I quickly slam the door and stare at the cold, gray pavement as I walk about half a mile to my school. With wind chill the current temperature can't be above 50 degrees and I shiver a bit.
Moving from San Diego, California, where palm tree and beaches were the main plants, made adjusting to the cold weather difficult. I missed the beach with its sun tanned sand, and the blue waters. Maybe someday I'd go back, but not until I could survive the torture of high school. Each step leads the way to my first day of Sophomore year, and I was the new kid on the block.

{Chapter 2}
BEEP! BEEP! I smack my alarm and open my droopy eyes while taking a small glare at the clock. 6:00. It's only 6:00. I roll over on my side and debate how badly I need to get up. School wins over sleep and I fling my blankets off of my legs and stroll over to my dresser. I pull out my favorite bootcut jeans and a plain blue t-shirt along with a black jacket. After getting dressed I hear my mother banging around in the kitchen below, searching for a pot or pan of some sort. Walking into the kitchen I get the sweet, sweet smell of blueberry muffins. Quickly grabbing one and stuffing it into my mouth, I grab my favorite pair of Converse.
