I do alot of nature photography, my speciality is animals, specially deer. I love photographing deer.
I first wanna tell you how I manage to photograph them. Well, it's quite simple since I have a stand for my camera, a good real camera planned for professional phtography (it's old, from the days when my family actually had money :'D) and a backpack with chair on it. Oh yeah, it's not as that simple. First I need to figure out where the deer are moving. I figure it out by going into forests and follow their paths until I find ones that lead to a field. Then I figure out how often they use those paths. With all this knowledge, I find a good hidden spots at the edges of the forest. I choose differend spot each time.
Then I set off my stuff, sit down and wait. Hours. Many hours. About every 4th time of 5, I won't be lucky. But that 1 time of 5, I am. Today, 6.8. I saw finally what I've been 'hunting' for YEARS. A white-tailed deer BUCK. Actually 2 :'D at once. I was in the rain, in cold, for hours and then finally they came. Like woah, I'm lucky. Finally.
So now when you know how much effort and time getting these pictures actually take, I hope you appreachiate these photos: (each with a story)

^This one, wasn't from when I was in the fields, I was walking in the forest with my mom and my dog, when suddently there came a deer mother with two fawns. It was cool experience, and I managed to take a few photos, this is the best one.

^ This is from today. I was sitting in the rain and wind, in cold cursing the weather. Stubbornly, I waited for hours and then he just was there. In the field. With slight panic I got the camera on him and whew, I reliased that it was my dream come true :'D He went on to the field and ate there all calmly, sometimes looking up. Heres couple more photos:

Aaaaa I got like the best photo ever of a roe deer buck!!! And I didn't even need to wait in hiding spot it just walked on the road in front of me like wut what kind of luck is that? the best luck ever??
Plus, I got my best camera with me. I was walking for 2h in the forest and when I followed the road back with my dog and my mom and mom stopped me and I had my camera on hands and she was like: "There's some animal on the road!" and I quickly froze and saw him standing there staring at me. I didn't waste any time and quickly took camera and started takin photos:

The most beautiful photos yet :'3 I mean yeah it's shaken the one where he runs but it somehow seems cool still. But the one where he is standing, it's just perfect.
OMGG YESH FINALLY LIKE FINALLYYY
I just got to middle parts of my country, and tonight 17.8, I headed to a place that seemed good for photography, a moose in my mind. I got to wait almost 3 hours, and the main time arrived; sun started to set. This was the time I heard moose are most active. And guess who got amazing photos?!
I mean omg really. I did not believe my eyes.
These photos comes with a story:
I heard a cracking sound front of me. I got ready immetiadely, since from eperience, I knew that any sound like that means that get ready right now. Well, nothing was in sight, so I thought that even if there was a moose, it was out of sight.
I sat for some minutes nothing in sight. Then I heard sounds. Step. Pause. Step. Pause.
I looked in front of me, not many meters away, there was a cow moose feeding on small trees!
A link: imgur.com/asHwS4a
^ This is one of the first photos I got.
I followed the moose taking photos, that weren't that good yet. Then it just laid down! I was like: "are you serious, moose? o.o" I watched it, since I only saw parts of head and ears that were moving when the moose shook her head and stuff. Then The moose stood up and appeared on good part in front of me, where I got these photos:
imgur.com/k1HaRXA
imgur.com/urM1wGN
imgur.com/cICGtru
imgur.com/eDX3d4q
imgur.com/pmZJGDS
Then the moose disappeared into the trees. I couldn't see it so I thought that yeah that's it. I got up and was so happy like "yeesh yeesh!" and stuff. Then I hear cracking sounds and I look back down, the moose ran back! I was like: "wut?" O.o Then quickly grabbed the camera back inmy hands.

Soon after that, the moose left and sun was setting, so after a happy victory dance, I headed back to my grandma's and grandpa's house where we are staying couple nights. I CAN'T BELIEVE MY LUCK REALLYYYH!

25.8. FOX?!
Yesh! Luck again! I went on one field from forest road to check for deer, but never expected this! I looked over the field, not seeing any deer so I was ready to go back to my mom and my dog (we were looking for mushrooms) then around 5m away from me I suddently see movement. I look to the little reddish brown creature that comes out from the taller grass. I freeze to see a fox kit. My reaction was; okay the camera quickly! (I never go out in nature without one) and I started setting the camera manually for photos. My camera wouldn't focus for a reason or another, so 5 of the photos at least were out of focus, even I was manually trying to find the right spot for good quitality. I left those photos out of the one sthat I signed and uploaded on imgur.
Well here are the 3 ones that I actually managed to get the focus on right, the kit was running away from me once it saw me:

27.8 YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS!
IT'S A BULL MOOSE!!
I was like normally on my deer photographing hiding place at the edge of the field. First I see a white tailed deer buck, handsome antlers! Here are couple photos of him but he isn't the main star of this day, even he is gorgeus!
imgur.com/a/B3NwA
So yeah, he moved there I kept taking photos and cursed because he was too far away...well maybe I should be more careful of what I wish for with how close I want the animal to be...I totally should...-writes up-
Because next thing I realise is loud crackling in the forest. I'm like: "theres an animal! What animal makes that much sound? I probably hsould go to s-" then I hear it coming towards me!! Well not all directly, but almost! I sat in the bench and crouched down, waiting, heart beating loudly.
And what I see? A huge brown head with two small antlers coming out of the forest very close! Not too many meters away! I freeze, at this moment I totally didn't have camera yet, because I got so scared of the huge animal standing right in front of me. We stared for a moment and then I take the camera and the moose reacts by starting to run:
imgur.com/a/B3NwA
Thats how close he was!
also next couple photos were not focused too well but heres one of him running again:
imgur.com/pD9UuHa
Then he stopped. Stared at me.
imgur.com/pD9UuHa
Look how HUGE he is! Also that butt tuft c'x
imgur.com/plCRn1H
He didn't seem like he actually took me as a threath, I think he was curious after the shock of accidental meeting went by, but he stayed cautious
imgur.com/WF22OzB
He strated slowly going away from me, still cautious and keeping an eye on me haha, I was still scared that he might decite to attack because I didn't move, but crazy as I am, I stayed still. But I can tell, my adrenaline level was high, my hands were shaking and heart beating. I needed to use camera stand to keep the camera still :'D

He took a little spurt

THEN he decited to come towards me. Maybe curiousity? But heck, I was scared! I was like: "No no no you don't want to come here!" in my mind xD
imgur.com/W94sg4O
I think that he decited that he didn't want to come closer, wich was good haha. I totally don't want any closer encouter with an animal whose shoulders height is probably taller than my own height on head (170cm)
imgur.com/NLVUypO
Staring again haha
imgur.com/NLVUypO
He then started going towards the other side of the field

turning again to face the direction he was going to
imgur.com/qooq79S
This is the last photo I decited to put online, it was the 16th after all. After this I did take some photos, but they are pretty much of him running further and further and turning once again, looking at me for awhile and then turning again to run. Then I put the camera off and watched him jumping over the river to the forest and disappearing again. And so I was glad, happy and still healing from the scare of that close encounter with a male moose. He wasn't even bigegst they can get; I think he was just a yearling or so.
Anyway, this was one wild encouter haha xD And very lucky one! And scary! After that I stood up, went on a travel trhough the forests seeing 3 deer, one of them being a spotted baby deer c'x I didn't got photos of them but I don't care because I got so many of the moose! And the forests are soo beautiful in there c'x
Today I was doing something differend! Instead of sitting still, I went on 'stalk mode', wich basically means that I follow moose and deer paths and try to see these animals in the forest, with camera ready. No I didn't just rustle there, I put alot of effort in my moving; I moved slowly, crouching lower, green and brownish clothes, looking where I step, making silent steps only, sometimes dropping down on full crouch and just staying there listening. I did so many things at once: kept a feeling of wind direction, listened for any animal moving, kept my moving silent, looking where I step and I had no room for even one mistake. Well, it definetly paid off:
I saw three moose moving in the forest. Two females and one crowned head king. He was HUGE, if I ever said that those other moose I saw were huge, well they lose to this giant! His shoulders were around 2m hight at LEAST. I was definetly scared, and I wasn't foolish, when they saw me (bad luck) I froze, crouched down, and stared at them. The females stared at me, it seemed like the male didn't see me. It was hard to capture any kind of good photo of any of them due to loads of branches in front of them but here is one of the crown head:
imgur.com/1v2vGef
Yeah not any dream photo one but, you can't always manage to take good photo. At least I saw them! And his antlers are showing well enough so you can see them.
Soo after the moose decited to leave I was free to move, I can say I did sit there for awhile before feeling safe to move, because you never know when there is a male moose at autumns time D: specially when they are in group of females i mean, I don't want to get mauled by them. Won't even risk it for a good photo or something.
Well, I continued my way and saw nothing really. I heard some animals but when I got there there was nothing in sight. After five or more hours of wondering around in forest (yes you read right, I said five or more), I decited to go back home.
I was just walking on train tracks (khm don't say anything I know it's dangerous but it was the only way home), I was just thinking: "yeah I'll see nothing anymore" then I looked at the right side of me into the field and next tought was: "nevermind", since there were two deer staring at me.
They very kindly posed for a good photos, and I chose the best one of them to show you:
imgur.com/cWeIubw
Mother and daughter.
imgur.com/PMhjWz5
I needed to move first so they would run away, but I really had to go there, because they were really close to my bike, so I had to scare them. I never scare animals on purpose but I needed to get out of the train track and get my bike :'D
imgur.com/aFdzZSb
But look how high their hind legs go!
I know the running photos arenät that good quitality but manually focusing camera on movement isn't that easy xD

11.9.2017!! UPDATE:
Heyy so it's been awhile again. I actually have gotten some photos, but not that good that I would have bothered to upload them online. Meanwhile the shcool started and i was too busy for last week to go to forest. Today I went there though, on stalking. I managed to see a moose, but not get a photo since it was in the forest and ran away D: I also saw 3 more deer. But despite bad luck that I didn't manage to see those, I saw baby white tailed deer buck with his mother while I was stalking at the edge of the forest! ALSO: I delted all older spoiler photos, there is still direct link to all photos whee the spoilers were! (I needed to make it so you could see the new spoilers, due to big amount of dowloading the site would need to do if there were all spoilers! ^^')
Here:
imgur.com/oGI1pAE
The baby came out first, the mother stopped and started staring at me. For very long, she didn't seem to be able to decite whether I was a living thing or not.
imgur.com/1jdj11r
I was more interested of photographing the baby deer at first x'3
imgur.com/W2zZWCi
Such a cute little one, I only realised he was a boy at home when I got a better look at the phots on computer.
imgur.com/3mLFuI4
This is the mother. She was staring at me, but didn't know what to think about me.
imgur.com/UBhgX1Q
She then decited that they better go, just in case. (They didn't seem too scared, just cautious, since I wasn't moving. So I didn't cause horror to them or anything).
imgur.com/oLMYxvu
She started moving, the fawn didn't notice me and seemed only confused on why his mom had sudden hurry.
imgur.com/kDzczlt
Bye byee!
There ya go. All best of the photos I shot of them, I have, like always, more but these are the best shots wich I decited to share!
Okay mini story: I was on stalking again, on a field. Then I heard single crackling sound from the forest road, on the opening there is. I immeadiately thought of moose (deers aren't that loud), and I stalked to see. I soon saw 2 moose calves. I got alerted, because I didn't have their mother on sight. I stalked closer, always stopping and bowing down when the calves looked at my direction. It worked; they didn't see me. What scared me, was that I didn't know where their mom was. Then I got even more scared, when I saw that the mother was only 5 meters away from me o.o oops! She didn't figure out I was there luckilly, but I stopped there all still and managed to get some (bad) photos of the calves. I didn't photograph the mother, because I was too scared of turning the camera, because motehr was staring at my direction. She either saw me moving alittle, or then supected something else. Anyway, when the mother moved away, I slowly stalked back towards the field, not wishing to get any closer, specially not between the moose calves and their mother!!

^ There are the calf photos.
OKAY so...I have come to tell you that sadly I will take a break of photographing. Month or two - who knows, but there is a proper reason. Evenings are turning dark and there is now so much dark time for deer and moose to be roaming, and there is no nightless nights (daylight bright nights, common in north) like i used to be at summer. Now the darkness sneaks here sooner and sooner. So I have less time to be able to find the deer, well that wouldn't be tha huge problem, but sadly the deer and moose have realised that they can rest in forests hidden well during day and move at night, when my camera can't focus on them, believe me I've tried. I still see them often, I just can't take a photo of them. So it's time for break. I will be back, who knows if later in winter or when I may manage to get a photo of a deer at daylight, but I don't go out there to find them anymore during the break.
Don't worry tho, I will not give up. I will bring you photos of them in the future! Also, I don't dare to leave without leaving some photos to you, so here you go:
The forgotten photos I thought weren't good enough to be shoving earlier:
imgur.com/a/QwtnE
^ First one is blurryface, don't mind him. It was already too dim for my camera to focus. Others are abit better ones.
HEYY It's 8.11. 2017 and I'm back from 'break' that turned out to be semi-hiatus :'D
So I WAS photographing, just not so often and I also I didn't publish the photos.
Heres some of the photos that I took while hiatus, but doesnt include the story of today!!
imgur.com/a/9Ott1
But what you probably came to see, is the buck!! Soo here he comes:
Story:
I was sitting in a stalking place, waiting for any sing of animals. I had an dry wooden stcik with me, wich I use at times for antler sounds to attract animals. I'm glad i had it! Because soon I saw movement in tall grass in front of me. I figured it was buck, by size and from a bit of antlers I saw. I knew that he was too far, in hidden place I couldn't get photos of. I cursed it. Then I figured to use the antler thing. I crackled it against the twigs and branches. He disappeared. Oh well, didn't it work?
Until I saw that he was around 4 meters away from me! Staring at my direction. He was looking for this rival buck. He was gorgeous! Big antlers, huge buck! He must be the lead buck of the area! He was tring to figure out where the antler sound came from. I grabbed the camera and started photoshooting:
Gorgeus fella!! And crazy close up!! He is white tailed buck. I named him Prince.
imgur.com/a/f36ad
I was more than happy!! x3 I also got close up with doe and fawn, but it was already dark and my camera can't fight darkness. The doe was interested of me, walking up to 5 meters away! Then she decited to run away, just to stop and come back o.o and repeated this until she decite dto leave. Whew! :'D
Well, hello there...wait....wait are you Prince?? Remember the buck above this text? ^ Well, I think I met him again o.o This was a field close by the area where I photoshot Prince not long ago. Soo I think I met him again? Because this one looks exactly the same, all the way up to antlers! So I am convinced that he IS Prince!
Here, have a look at some of the best shots I could get, since it was getting dim and my camera started messing up:

Yup this is the best I got this time! Can't always exactly win...but good enough for me! And while I was sitting close to one meadow type area, I actuallu heard loud crackling wich I strongly conenct to moose, but I didn't see anything, since it came from forest...either moose or human, haha! xD And I saw doe deer close by, on one forest road but there was so much forest that it was nearly black and my camera couldnt handle it, and the deer kinda was running since I accidentally suprised it D: And scared it...I never mean to spook them :c But I couldn't have known, I came from forest to the road. (i didnt see that part of the road).
UPDATE 25.12
Heeelllo! Its 25th of december! Merry christmas to you! I also got a great present for christmas from nature! If you want to think it like that, haha! A christmas moose!
There I was again, sitting in cold cold snowy field...I had been sitting and waiting for over 2h now. The animals should be at move, it was getting 3 PM. Also, darkness was creeping out and I was worried that once again I would return without photos. (In north: darkness falls around 3:30PM). But then, I heard something...
STOMP STOMP STOMP.
I knew it, that moment. It was a moose. From experience I could tell it was huge animal, and the footsteps, were ones of a moose. I froze still (haha...you know its cold and..yeah...bad joke...) and started trying to find out where around the moose was coming to the field. Soon i saw it, a big brown animal.
imgur.com/iQaPjGS
And then I went on hoping the animal would come to the field and not turn back. And the moose came out! And that was the moment when my cameras lence decited to freeze...I got these tho:

Hope you enjoy my stories and photos!! x3 Leave a comment maybe?
Please respect my signature and do not steal, use or claim these as your own in any way, these photos aren't easy to get, they take loads of work and even those with pure luck doesn't happen every day. If you so badly want to have photos of animals that you are ready to break the copyright law, maybe you should just go to nature and get your own photos. These photos are for viewing purpose only, do not use them in anything without my written permission. Thank you!
These all photos belongs to me.

He took a little spurt

Staring at me again xD

THEN he decited to come towards me. Maybe curiousity? But heck, I was scared! I was like: "No no no you don't want to come here!" in my mind xD
imgur.com/W94sg4O
I think that he decited that he didn't want to come closer, wich was good haha. I totally don't want any closer encouter with an animal whose shoulders height is probably taller than my own height on head (170cm)

Staring again haha

He then started going towards the other side of the field

Mother and daughter.

I needed to move first so they would run away, but I really had to go there, because they were really close to my bike, so I had to scare them. I never scare animals on purpose but I needed to get out of the train track and get my bike :'D

Here:

The baby came out first, the mother stopped and started staring at me. For very long, she didn't seem to be able to decite whether I was a living thing or not.
imgur.com/1jdj11r
I was more interested of photographing the baby deer at first x'3

Such a cute little one, I only realised he was a boy at home when I got a better look at the phots on computer.
imgur.com/3mLFuI4
This is the mother. She was staring at me, but didn't know what to think about me.
imgur.com/UBhgX1Q
She then decited that they better go, just in case. (They didn't seem too scared, just cautious, since I wasn't moving. So I didn't cause horror to them or anything).
imgur.com/oLMYxvu
She started moving, the fawn didn't notice me and seemed only confused on why his mom had sudden hurry.

^ First one is blurryface, don't mind him. It was already too dim for my camera to focus. Others are abit better ones.
HEYY It's 8.11. 2017 and I'm back from 'break' that turned out to be semi-hiatus :'D
So I WAS photographing, just not so often and I also I didn't publish the photos.
Heres some of the photos that I took while hiatus, but doesnt include the story of today!!

Please respect my signature and do not steal, use or claim these as your own in any way, these photos aren't easy to get, they take loads of work and even those with pure luck doesn't happen every day.
