NOTE:
Sorry if I spell things wrong or if I mess up a word.
Prologe
Deep in Idaho lives a wolf pack, And one of the strongest wolf
packs. If you walk a couple miles away from this pack, you will
find yourself in a town of Burica.
Burica is a small town and only holds the population of 52. And
Now, if you look closer you'll find a household of 4. This
is one of the most beauitful houses of all Burica, hand built
by the family itself. This household consists of a mother named Curia. A father
named Houge and a little girl about the age of 10 named
Irana. But there is the most important of the household, the one
who rules it all. Callie the Cat.
Callie is a fairly sized cat, small head, large body. Her fur
is smooth coconut, and most beautiful while in the sunlight. Which
she never encounters. As in, she hates the outdoors.
If one spot of dust even touches her lightly polished and brushed
paws, she will most likely freak out. She thinks it'd
kill her just to touch her lips to a water bowl, which is why
she's fed milk from a bottle. Soon Callie's life will change.
No more dressing up, no more brushing, and no more pampering.
Chapter 1- Somethings not right.
Callie opens her eye lids to see only the house light. Her
eyes glitter with wakening tears. The cat lifts up her rear
end and stretches her long front legs out, tail curled to her
back. Then she fully stands as she flicks her ears to each side
of the room. Her room. But no one was standing there with a
brush and bottle. Stange. Maybe their just working? Callie
Thinks. The Cat slowly walks to the door, her head dropping with
tiredness. Reaching the door it flung open, almost hitting her.
She jumped back and hissed, fur standing.
"I'm so sorry Callie! I'm late!" Stumbled the little girl, Irana.
Callie mewed slightly, and sat down waiting for the girl to
begin. Instead, Irana picked up the cat and walked out of the
room. Callie was confused. Irana usally brushed and fed Callie
before taking her out of the room.
Callie was placed in the living room near a bowl of milk. The cat
snorted with disgust at the bowl and looked at Irana.
"Look i'm sorry, but we don't have the time, we need to pack!" yelled Irana.
Now, Callie was for sure confused. Packing? Time? When did they ever had short time?
The cat passed on the bowl and followed Irana out to the living room
Where everyone was. There were boxes, boxes everywhere. And boxes
were Callie's favorite toy! She jumped up onto the neared box and
began to open up the taped up box. Half way in while in joy, the cat
was sweaped off the box, the joy leaving her and to be replaced
with sudden fear. The cat looked up at the older woman and hissed.
The woman jumped back with surprise then gained her courage back
and yelled, "No, Bad Cat. Do not tear up those boxes!"
Callie slinked back into the half wall and thought to herself,
She never called me just a Cat. What is wrong with everyone today?
For once Callie wasn't being treated like a Queen and was worried
for herself and the family.
Suddenly it hit her, that they were moving, and taking all of
their stuff.. But why would they?! The cat mewed and circled
ears back. Then she ran and jumped onto the box the man was
carrying outside, throwing it back onto the ground. The man, Houge
was angry for a minute, then he let the box go, understanding
the cat.
"I'm sorry Callie, but we must move, the bank is only giving us
2 more days to be in this house.. That we lived in for ten ye-"
He stopped and yanked his face away to stop himself from crying.
Callie now new that they must move, and it wasn't easy for them either.
The family had build the house them self and lived here ever since
Irana was born. The cat put her paws on his chest and gave him
a nuzzle included with a pur. Houge smiled, accepting the
affection. Then he signaled with his head to the cat to get
off the box so he can continue out the door. Callie jumped off and
watched him go. Then she decided to help aswell, grabbing small
packages and dragging them onto the porch outside with her teeth.
The packing went on for hours, and it was now sun down. Callie
was very hungry now and thought she should give the bowl a try.
She got up from the porch outside and walked inside to get a drink
of milk. As soon as she reached the kitchen, someone picked her up.
Their hand was so cold and hard on her belly, so she struggled.
"Settle down, Callie, it's just me, Curia" said the mother gently.
The cat was now relieved. But then again frightened as she was
put into a small cage. The metal bar door made a loud squeaking
noise. Her nose cringed at the strange smell. Then a large shaking
occurred that made her much more scared, so scared that she let
out a screech. But then strange, but soothing coo's came from
the woman's mouth as she placed the cat on a large metal box.
The door slammed but the coo's continued, but were inaudible
when the door shut. Darkness covered her. And soon she figured out,
she was on the ROOF of a car.
Chapter 2- A Wild Ride
Its been only an hour since the family had left their old home. It was sad to see it go, but they had to. For Callie, all she saw was moonlight squares inside the slippery bouncy cage. Ropes were holding the cage down, but they were a bit loose. Callie didn't know what to do, she was hungry, tired and cold. She hated this trip.
Suddenly she heard a yell from the car, it was some what a robotic kind of yell to her. While she was trying to clear her mind and pay attention to what they were saying, they hit a large speed bump and the Cat roared with a mighty fearful meow as her cage flew up. The ropes snapped and she flew down, but all of a sudden something stopped. She looked up, for she was at the bottom of the cage, and saw a rope wrapped around the metal cage door. It was holding her up. The rope was slipping. The cat was panicing and jumped up, her paw slipping through one of the door's holes and grabbed the rope, but it didn't help. She couldn't use her claws. The rope slipped from the door and the cage flew back. Mortified the cat screamed in agony. The cage bounced off the ground, bending it. Then before it could hit the ground again, a car flew by and hit the cage right from the back of it, pushing the cat at the front causing her to black out. The bent and half shattered cage barged off the edge of the rode and rolled down the hill. dirt covered the inside of the cage as it rolled so quick the cat barely moved inside of it. As it finally reached the ground it ended in a loud plump to a tree.
It's been a full day until the cat finally woke up. She opened her eyes, wishing she had not woken up. Callie was in pain everywhere, her head gave off the most pain. The Injured cat could barely lift up her head, there was an opening in the side of the cage that was shattered, the cat could fit through it. Callie turned her body slitly and stuck her head out, only to jolt backwards. She was on a tree, stuck, and if she sticks her body out of the hole, she'd surely crash and die. To her, that seemed like the best idea to do. all of a sudden, depression hit her. I lost everything. My sanity, my cleaness, my house, my family.. Everything thought Callie. She began to cry, then she banged her head on the cage causing it to tumble from the tree. The cat's heart and stomach churned as she fell from the tree. She lanned with a splashing thud. When she looked out the hole in the cage, she found herself in a small creek full of miniture frogs, tadpols and strange looking crabs. Callie slipped out ignoring her pain and took her first breath of the real outdoors. The Cat then relized she was in water, which made her pounce to the dirty ground. Her ears drew back and she hissed at every paw step she took. Looking over to everyside, then she looked to her ruffled dirty wet paws. Callie was terrified of how bad she looked. She began to stroke her fur with her tounge picking up all of the dirt and dried blood. After cleaning her disgusting fur, a huge jolt of pain struck her head, refraining herself to think. Callie stood on her back paws and fell onto her side, grabbing her head. It was wet and full of fresh blood, the world began to spin around her as she lays. Her eyes slits. At that same moment she saw a furry gray patch lay infront of her face, but she was to weak to move. That patch lifted up and touched her stomach, then sniffed her face. Letting out a loud whinning noise as if she were a dog, the patch of fur leaped back and tilted it's top. Then it stepped forward again and licked the cat's head, cleaning off the blood. The cat felt a little better and her vision came back, She saw a large gray dog stand before her. The dog began to growl as the cat lifted her head, but stopped when she layed it down. The dog was strange, especially for it's height.
"Don't get up, you'll hurt yourself you dumb cat," Growled the animal
"Why did you help me? Your a stange dog,"
The dog laughed loudly at the mention of dog.
"Silly cat, have you never heard of a wolf? I'm not a dog and glad not to be,"
Callie was confused
"But-" She was cut off by the wolf
"No talk now, rest."
The cat nodded and closed her eyes, it took her awhile to finally fall asleep since the pain never quit attacking her.
It was at sunrise the next day when the cat woke up. The cat looked around, no sight of the wolf she met the other day.But she felt much better and didn't need so much tending to. She had gone 2 days without eating or drinking anything. Which was bad. Callie stood infront of a creek, very unamused that she must drink the water. Closing her eyes and holding her breath she sucked in the mud water and swallowed it. The water tasted like pure plastic, which made her face cringe in disgust. Her eyes squinted.
"Your not from around here are you?" Said a random voice.
The cat jumped and hissed, flinging herself back into the water. When she lifted her head up again she saw the wolf again. Callie's expression turned from Scared to Angry.
"Say who are you to barge into my area, Can't you see i'm trying to survive! Who are you anyways?" growled the cat.
"Who am I? Who am I? I think i'm the one who saved your life. Or you can just call me Da'ue," The cat figured that this was a clever wolf and would be hard to escape from. Her eyes rolled as she squinted at him. Callie got up off the rocky creek and walked up to him.
"Well listen Da'ue, why do you keep stalking me?"
Da'ue smiled and sat down, curling his bushy tail around his large paws. He looked down at Callie and explained, "We'll you see, i'm not really the biggest finally you'll meet, but you need some help. And I could teach you a few tricks about how to survive.. Because you need it kitty,"
Callie looked at him, now she was interested. She began copying what the wolf does and sat down. She blinked and nodded slightly showing that she Accepts. The wolf lifted his rear and padded away, signaling the cat to follow. Callie did the same as the wolf did and followed him out to the wooded area. After awhile they reached a beutiful area, it was a large landscape full of mossy tree's that glitened in the sun. It smelled like Candy.
"This is Prey Eyes forest. The reason they call it that is because there is so much prey that lives here, when you take one step into the forest, you've probably just stepped on 2 catches," Da'ue Explained, "Prey is something that you kill to eat. Obviously you don't know what it is because you have a collar."
Da'ue flicked the pink broken bell on Callie's neck with his claw. Callie rolled her eyes again and swatted his paw with hers.
"Come on use those claws!" he barked, laying on her chest with his rear in the air.
Callie's ears flattened and whispered, "I don't have any. My owners removed them so I wouldn't hurt anyone."
Da'ue got up and sniffled. Which signaled there would be a problem. He turned around and sniffed the air, "We'll you'll just have to learn to live with that. I know some tricks up my sleeves to kill clawless. It's called use them fangs!"
The cat smiled and her tail flung up with happiness.
Da'ue caught a scent, looked to the cat, then back, flinging himself forward into the bushes.
Chapter 3 - Hunting Lessons
Callie stood and watched with her soft yellow eyes, glaring from side to side.
Where did the wolf go? she asked herself. Callie couldn't seek the wolf, he disappeared into the bushes, without a sound! She looked closer into the wooded area, seeing nothing. Suddenly something tickled her shoulder, she began to smirk as she knew it was Da'ue. As she flung her head around, all she saw was 8 large black eyes, on her shoulder.
Then she knew..
"It's a spider! On me!" she squealed, flipping herself around.
Callie jumped everywhere, even on needles, so frightened. Finally she tripped backwards and landed on a spot of fur. Brushing the spider off she yelled, "Da'ue! How dare you not-"
The cat stopped and looked at the fur, it wasnt Da'ues. Her small head lifted up to look at the fur patch, it was an adverage sized animal. Gray, Black, White was all she saw.
The patch let out a terrifying noise that rung her ears. She was pushed off of the animal with a strange paw, Da'ue's paw.
"What are you doing, you cat! Thats a badger!" he shrieked, extending his claws.
Da'ue scrapped the badger arcoss the face with his long claws. The badger's small red eye's flashed at the wolf, his hackles stood fiercly. Then he leaped at Da'ue's face ripping off a large amount of fur, leaving bloody scratches.
"Run! We don't have time to fight" shouted Da'ue.
The cat and the wolf fled the fight, running only a short distance away. Da'ue rubbed his bloody face with his large paw. The wolf wimpered. Callie looked up at Da'ue and licked his wounds gently. Her eyes were gleaming with thank yous are happiness that he had saved her. Da'ue was somewhat her guardian angel, always there at the bad times, when she needed him the most. The wolf sighed as he reached his face back to grab something.
"I managed to get a hold of this while I was running off," exclaimed the wolf showing the cat a small mouse that he had in his jaws.
The cat fell backwards, "What? A dead mouse? Gross, it even still had the blood on it! I don't eat dead things!"
"But I already told you, you must kill your meal. Were you even listening?"
The cat stopped and thought. He did say that you must kill your prey to eat. She stared at him, still on her back.
"Can you atleast clean the blood off?" She asked
The wolf was strabismus. Then he began to lick off the blood of the mouse. When he finished he threw it at the cat.
"You need to learn to hunt for yourself. Which you were meant to do back at the forest. But you can't even folllow such a rule like that," growled Da'ue, staring angerily at the cat.
Callie grabbed the mouse in her teeth and ate slowly, avoiding the blood and guts to touch her lips. She even swallowed slowly. the taste is okay she thought, continuing the rest down.
Callie the cat looked at the wolf, "I never told you my name."
"I never wanted to know" replied the wolf, who was looking away.
"It's Callie,"
"Callie? What kind of name is that. Sounds like a kittypet name,"
Callie huffed heavily, she loved her name.
"You need to change that name," exclaimed Da'ue.
Callie lifted her ears so strait that it even looked like she was scared. The cat was very surprised to hear such words leave his mouth. All she could think was no. Never would she want to leave her past name. It was the only memory of her family. She missed her family.
"Why? I love my name," she finally replied
"You need to let go of your past. It is the future you need to look forward to. I acually came up with some names!"
"No," growled the cat.
Da'ue was surprised with her tone. He sighed and got up, walking to the stream to clean his head a bit more. Suddenly, there was a howl in the distance.
"I must go now, see you tomorrow," said the wolf.
Before Callie could reply, Da'ue was gone. He was lost into the bushes, it wasn't even the night, it was mid-day! What would Callie plan to do. She already finished her plump mouse and was satisfied with her thirst. Nothing needed cleaning but her teeth. Callie stood and paced a bit. When she had nothing to do all she could to was train herself. It hit her, she should train herself! Maybe she could impress Da'ue and earn his respect back. The cat stood and began to hop towards the Prey Eye Forest. As she reached the edge of the forest, she did exactly what she saw Da'ue do. She heaved her head into the sky and sniffed in.
A combination of smells caught her nose. But soon she'll be able to sort them apart.
To her left was a tiny mouse, to her right was a squirrel. And a couple other smells she didnt reconize. Mice are easy to catch she thought to herself. But obviously she was wrong. Callie walked to the left, then she crouched. Pearing through the grass. She watched a mouse gobble up a seed. The mouse was so busy it didn't even hear the cat breathing, which sounded like someone being jumped on. Callie didn't wait, and just jumped in the air. She began to spin and landed on her back on the mouse. When she tried to stand up, her legs shook. When she did get up. she saw the mouse was still alive, but she broke it's hind leg, which made it slow. Callie shivered at herself for doing such harm, but then jolted her face down to the mouse, but as her face got nearer to the ground, it smashed into the dirt instead of fur. The mouse scampered off before she even bit it!
Callie was so disappointed in herself. In anger she stomped back and forth, then left the area to go back to the creek.
When Callie reached the creek she plopped down into the ground and closed her eyes, sighing.
Chapter 4 - The Claws
Callie woke up to a long excited howl. Her head jolting up, slamming into a boney chest. The cat looked up and see's Da'ue standing over her. He had a very large grin on his face, but who knows why. Callie gave him a strange confused face.
The wolf jumped to the other side, his chest pressed to the ground, while his rear in the sky.
This was an usual expression. Suddenly he started to pant. Callie got up and shook her back paws, stretching the toes apart.
"What?" asked Callie.
Da'ue jumped up and have an even larger smile. Callie repeated her question.
"Guess what I made, or.. found! You gotta see it!" barked Da'ue.
The cat was suddenly interested in his offer to see an object. Callie stopped stretching and stood beside him, not taking her eyes off the wolf. Da'ue nodded and started padding quickly away, it was a bit hard to catch up with the wolf. Callie was very confused on what the wolf was talking about. Was it prey? Was it a new family? The cat got a bit excited thinking about getting a new family. What if it had a little girl like Irana! And a mother and father! Just like her old family.. but it couldn't be a new family.. could it? Humans don't live in the forest? Callie began to get heavy, sulking her way toward Da'ue. Thinking about humans just made her feel sad.. It hurt just to think about what happened. It all flashed in her head. Then she stopped and stared at Da'ue who was still walking.
The wolf stopped aswell and lifted his ears to face the cat, then he turned his head around to face her. Callie thinks that he knows what she was thinking about.
"Its okay Callie. We're not to far from your surprise!" he barked, swinging his giant head to signal for the cat to continue on following. Callie started again.
Da'ue was wrong, the trip took awhile and Callie was starting to feel a bit weak. She needed a little rest, but as soon as she was about to collapse the wolf howled, "We're here! Sit right there."
Callie sat where she was a motioned her head past the trees to see Da'ue, who was laying down. The wolf's head was low and he was crawling forward to a large dump. Reaching his paw under the tin box the wolf dragged out a piece of silver. It shined brightly while the sun glazed it's bright rays onto it. Callie stared in awe. It was a beautiful piece of metal, it almost looked as if it were... iron claws. Da'ue took the metal bunch and stalked his way over to Callie. He made it safely to the cat, dropping the scrap in front of the cat.
"I found this while I was hunting and decided to put it somewhere no one would find it.."
"What is it?"
"I thought since... you don't have claws, it would be a good replacement," said Da'ue. "it'll help you with surviving in the wild."
Callie's eyes began to tear up. She felt so very happy. It was the best present anyone could give her right now... she didn't expect this one. She stood on her back paws and grabbed Da'ue leg, which was the only thing she could reach, and nuzzled it. She felt happy vibes coming from Da'ue aswell. Her chin rested on his leg and she stared up at him.
"Thank you.. so much," whispered Callie.
The cat jumped down from his leg and got her present. It looked a bit complicated, but she managed to get it on her paw. It fit perfectly, as if the gods gave it to her and to her specifically. As soon as she put it on, she began to examine it. The edges were as sharp as swords, sharper than any wolf claw, it could possibly slice through bone if she really tried. It was designed with swirls and rings. The shiny gray made it seem as if it were made of the strongest iron. Callie decided to test it out. Since it was only one paw, she had to get use to the feeling. She ran up to a large vine and swung her metal claw at it. The vine sliced in half, easily. Falling to the ground.
Callie stared at her paw... 'amazing..' she thought.
The cat flung her head back at Da'ue, he sat smiling.
